In defense of fashion watches (inspires by the earlier ‘wear the watch you like’ post)

Sometimes I like to play devil’s advocate, and today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed… We all know that fashion watches are overpriced, but how is that worse than ‘overpaying’ for *any* watch? Why should I pay $750 for a Baltic if I can get the same exact components in a $500 watch from another micro? Possible answers: because I like the design of the Baltic, because Baltic has good marketing, or because influencers like Baltic so I should too.

Watches are more than the sum of their parts - if you feel a connection to the product (*and,* crucially, understand what you’re buying) then you should wear exactly what you like, including fashion watches (but maybe wait for a sale :)).

Now go buy that Fossil you’ve been eyeing! At the very least it has an attractive design and it’s not a straight up copy like 99% of Alix watches. 😂

Does anyone have any recommendations? Micros preferred but I’m open to mainstream brands as well. Thank you in advance!
