English/Indian wedding

Hi everyone.

Sorry if this is inappropriate for this sub, as I'm having issues and really need some help.

I'm an English man and my fiance is Indian. We were going to get married in India in August but due to family circumstances that's not possible and we're making our reception here into the wedding.

My problem is that my close family were happy to wear Indian clothes for the wedding over there, but over here they of course want to wear wedding clothes you would typically wear here. Her family coming here will most likely be in Indian clothes. I fully understand that she would like my family to wear Indian wedding clothes and definitely agree it would be a nice gesture on their part, but they don't feel comfortable surrounded by family and friends and have said this. They simply want to wear their own clothes.

I'm stuck as of course I want to support my fiance and see her point, as the day is split into the wedding in the morning, turning into a reception/Sangeet in the evening so they could wear the clothes in the morning and change later. But they don't want to as this isn't exactly a traditional Indian wedding, my family is white.

So am I wrong for believing that people should be free to wear what they actually want to. Should I be fully supporting my fiance, as I'm not sure controlling what people get to wear is appropriate, even at our own wedding.

Hi everyone,

I was due to get married in my fiancé's home country in August and have a reception here in September. Unfortunately we've had to cancel the wedding abroad so now have to plan the wedding for our September date.

We were wanting to get a mexican food truck for the evening but I'm struggling finding options online. Are there any options people can recommend.

Thanks for the help.
