Gorgeous Midori Free Diary Brown

With Kaweco Skyline Sport Fox and Kaweco Sunrise Orange ink. Bit dry and scratchy on the Tomoe River.. Yet good writing on it. But not even closer to my Pilot Vanishing Point with Iroshizuku Tsuki - Yo experience.

The Kerala OG shake : Sjarjah shake - origin, history and recipes

The Sharjah Shake is arguably Kerala's most iconic bakery beverage. Despite its Middle Eastern name, it is a 100% homegrown Kerala creation, known for its incredibly thick, creamy texture and rich malt-chocolate flavor.

## History and Origin
* **The Inventor:** The shake was created by the late Kalanthan Koya in the early 1980s.
* **The Location:** It was first served at Ameen Juice Shop—one of Calicut's (Kozhikode) earliest juice shops—and later at the EPK Fruit and Cool Bar in the Mananchira square.
* **The Spontaneous Naming:** The story goes that around 1984, a group of young men were at Koya's shop watching the inaugural Sharjah Cup (an international cricket tournament) on television. They asked for a refreshing drink, and Koya whipped up an experimental blend of local *Njalipoovan* bananas, frozen milk, and sugar. The customers loved the thick concoction and asked for its name. Since the word "Sharjah" was the talk of the town due to the cricket match, Koya grinned and spontaneously named it the "Sharjah Shake".

## The Authentic Recipe
The secret to a true bakery-style Sharjah Shake is the **frozen milk**. It creates a luscious, ice-cream-like body without actually requiring any ice cream. The other crucial element is malt powder, which gives it a distinct, earthy chocolate flavor.
### Ingredients (Serves 2)
* **Milk:** 2 cups (500 ml), frozen into a solid block or semi-frozen slush.
* **Bananas:** 2 small, sweet bananas (In Kerala, *Njalipoovan* or *Yelakki* are used, but regular Robusta works perfectly).
* **Malt Powder:** 2 tablespoons of Boost, Bournvita, or Horlicks.
* **Nuts:** 2 tablespoons of roasted, unsalted peanuts or cashews.
* **Sugar:** 1 to 2 tablespoons (adjust based on the sweetness of your bananas).
* *(Optional)* A tiny pinch of instant coffee powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.

  1. Freeze the milk
    Crucial for the correct texture
Pour the milk into a freezer-safe bowl or pouch and freeze it for 4 to 6 hours until it is completely solid or forms a thick slush.
  2. Blend the base
In a blender, add the chopped bananas, malt powder, roasted peanuts or cashews, and sugar. Blend this into a smooth paste first.
  3. Crush and add the frozen milk
Break the frozen milk into chunks (you can safely hit a frozen milk packet with a rolling pin before opening it) and add it to the blender.
  4. Blend to a thick shake
Blend everything on high for 2 to 3 minutes. The frozen milk will break down and whip up into an incredibly thick, frothy consistency.
  5. Garnish and serve
Pour immediately into tall glasses. Garnish with a sprinkle of malt powder and some chopped nuts on top.

> **Pro-Tip:** If you want an even richer variation, blend in a few pitted dates or top the glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream—a common upgrade in modern Kerala juice bars.

Had been hunting for my first multipen and settled with Zebra Sharbo X Gold Axis and customized it with various refills.

So far Pilot Acro wins for me.. Ink flow, writing experience and longevity. Followed by Zebra JSB while sacrificing longevity. Uni Jetstream is not bad either. Need to find a darker lead for pencil. Any suggestions?

The ball point pen comes with TRC proprietory refill which is a regular oil based ball point refill. I replaced it with Pilot Hi-tec-c Coleto 0.4 purple ink GEL refill. The original refill has a projection on both sides to hold the spring.. I used a paper tape on coleto to hold the spring in position. Now writing experience is way better. This pen completes the famly of all four TRC writing instruments - fountain, roller ball, ball point and pencil.
