Ezekyle Abaddon: 1st Captain of the Sons of Horus

Really happy with how this guy turned out, not 100% on the sword, I wish I’d used pink and purple instead of orange but still looks okay. Armour and gold went really well and I’ll definitely be keeping that recipe.

Update WIP on my Abaddon

Liking how the armour is going so far, wanted to get a green hue to the black.

Carcharadons test scheme #2

A darker blue grey with white pauldrons this time and I really like it. Tried out a quick lava/magma bass too which I think is subtle and good against the model colours.

It is not a good day to be this marine

Finished up the maleceptor this morning. He’s a big boy but a really fun model to paint!

Carcharadons test model #1

I’m committing to 1000 points of Carcharadons but I can’t for the life of me decide on a scheme so I’m going to do 3 or 4 tests of different schemes and bases to see which I like best. Not painted perfectly just while I test things out.

Number 1 is the classic grey with black pauldrons and a mossy/rocky base theme.

Help with highlighting pauldrons?

Hi all, looking for some help with highlighting the pauldron shapes. No matter what I do they feel a little off, I aren’t sure if it’s the shape of highlights I’m placing or the light placement but any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Test forest/jungle type base

Tried some new techniques and pretty happy with the results.

Maleceptor update/WIP

This guy is a much bigger bug than anticipated, managed to get most of the base coats on, some carapace highlighting and the glowing brains. Happy with how the marine is looking too 👍

Couple of Cankerborn for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater

Trying to get faster and better especially for these game pieces. Focussed my efforts on the major elements, skin and weapons for these guys but happy with how they’ve come out.

Warhammer quest: Darkwater - Shaman Foulhoof

Probably my least favourite of the villain sculpts but happy to get another one finished to a reasonable standard. I particularly think the glow effect reads quite well.

‘Please don’t see me, please don’t see me’ - Maleceptor WIP

Started working on the maleceptor, the base felt like it needs something and what better than a lonely marine!

Re-based Winged Hive Tyrant

Gave this guy a desert rock base in line with the rest of the army.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig

Finished up this little creature today and had such a good time with it. Something totally different from everything I’ve painted so far.

Catulan Reaver attack squad

Painted up these guys and gave them a little display base too for a local painting comp for the ‘squad’ category.

WIP - Catulan Reaver squad

Making some progress into these guys. 5-man squad to start with led by this sergeant.

Updated Tyberos WIP

I was generally unhappy with the arms and base of the last attempt but much happier now.

Saturnine Praetor body
Assault terminator arms
Cataphractii pauldrons
Old cataphractii chain fist for hand saws
Hellblaster pipes
Added some chains and skulls

Drolf Ironhead - Warhammer Quest: Darkwater

Next character for Darkwater completed and what I’m happiest with about this guy is that I was able to knock it out in a couple of hours. Seeing improvements in speed for something I’m happy with for tabletop is great 👍

Red Terror - Hive Fleet Typhon

Finished up the Terror for my Typhon army. I’m usually a much slower painter but seeing everyone paint theirs got me inspired. Deviated from my usual scheme to incorporate the red claws and eyes so it’s still a ‘red’ terror of some description. What a beautifully sculpted model - whoever designed the head on this did an amazing job!
