Is there a Flail Archetype?

Is there a Flail Archetype?

I think I'm going insane, I could have swore there was some feats/an archetype that was specifically for Flails. I've always loved Flails as a weapon and I'm pretty sure I dreamed there was an archetype specifically for using Flails to their greatest extent. If there isn't one, feel free to give me your opinions on Flails! (I'm open to homebrew if you know any good ones)(Screenshot is from Wall of Flesh Animated by ExoskelletAnimation)

Jaws as a Killer

How it'd work

My idea was make the entire trial underwater, with some floating decor and debris for that sunken feel. Then, as part of the killers power, survivors start the trial with scuba tanks, similar to the stamina bar from the 10th anniversary event. Moving slowly, doing gens, and anything other than being in chase or in the killers terror radius drains your oxygen slowly. Every once in awhile you need to find a interactable that lets you increase your oxygen back to full. Now, losing all your oxygen won't insta down you, but you will become injured, broken, exhausted, and have gen repair penalties until you get your oxygen back. This is how I'd justify having Jaws in the game alongside whatever power they'd have.

How would you fix Inventor?

I've tried Inventor again and again. One shots, campaigns both short and long, and let me just say.... they need just a *little* something more. Let me start with-

Unstable. Unstable... unstable... the bane of Inventors existence. After Runesmith, what's the point of it's existence anymore? It's meant to be a way to nerf powerful abilities with a chance to deal self inflicted damage and only allow them to be used once per ten minutes. That, and a way to increase an abilites power by adding the trait. I suppose similar to Focus Points, but far worse. Personally, the way I'd fix Unstable is simply giving it a scaling DC, starting at 5 or 10, and each use increases the flat DC by 5. This would allow riskier plays and would still keep that instability the class theme provides.

Runesmith

I have the Impossible Magic pdf already and let me say, the Runesmith is awesome. The best comparison I can make is the Dnd 5e Artificer with their Infused Items. You can put the runes onto items, creatures, and weapons permanently for passive effects, you can also Trace Runes the same way for shorter effects, but you can also Invoke the Runes for a powerful effect. The feats are quite nice as well, I don't have any complaints about them. But it is very similar to Inventor, not to mention it gets Magical Crafting automatically at lvl 2 or 3, the feat you'd want to take as an Inventor anyway (tbf, both classes would want the others craft feat anyways). You also learn ALL fundamental Runes at the same time, and learn a property rune of your choice at certain levels. Why does the Runesmith seem like a better Crafter than Inventor? But I digress

Both classes are fun in their own way, and have their own niches in play. Inventor excels in games with a lot of downtime while Runesmith fits in better overall. I cannot ever see myself playing Inventor again after playing a Runesmith, and if I want to, I'll just take Inventor Dedication on my Runesmith.

Let me know what yalls takes are, I just feel bad for Inventor at this point, especially after the stats came out and it is the least played class in the game apparently. I love you Inventor, but you'll have to sit in the cuck chair until you get a buff... hopefully one day.... I can wish

I know they wouldn't... But

I would love to see Eluge again in the underwater set coming out in February. They are the card that got me into Magic the Gathering and I love them dearly. 0% chance they add them since they are from Bloomburrow but at least we'll get new Fish, Krakens, and Leviathans (hopefully)

Playing a Soldier in a pirate themed campaign

I'm going to be playing a Dragonkin Soldier in a Pathfinder campaign using a reflavored Stellar Cannon. We are using Free Archetype, with access to *every* Pathfinder dedication, what should I choose? So far I'm considering Guardian for more HP and maneuvers, and Ranger for more Range and Reload synergy. Any Dedications that would work well for a Pirate Soldier?

Blood Necromancer is the best option by far

I've got the Impossible Magic PDF, and let me just say. The Sanguimancer is the best Grim Fascination by far. What do they get? Well, this is what they get

"Your thralls are enhanced with a drop of

your blood, and when they fall, your blood returns to you. Whenever a thrall is destroyed, you regain 1 Hit Point. At 5th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the amount of Hit Points you regain when a thrall is destroyed increases by 1"

You don't think much of a measly 1 HP, but when you can spend three actions and summon 6 Thralls (Puppeteer can summon 9), you simply don't need Treat Wounds or *any* out of combat healing ever again. Thralls last for 1 Minute, after which they expire and die, granting you that HP. Meaning that at lvl 1, spending 1 minute to summon 60 Thralls, over the next minute you'll regain *60 HP*. This might be the most powerful self healing ability we've seen, maybe outclassed by Scar of the Survivor for Exemplar. And even if you want to get into the "Expiring doesn't mean die" simply get someone to kill the Thralls for you while you summon them. MAP doesn't matter if they *always* get hit with attacks.

I didn't even mention their Focus Spell, Blood Infusion. It allows a Necromancer to fill a target with Blood, removing Bleed Immunity if they had it and inflicting Bleed on them. Which is a little situational, but quite welcome when your against Undead or Constructs. As long as they don't critically succeed this Bleed Immunity Removal lasts for 1 Minute, letting any Allies who inflict Bleed also benefit. It might not be the best Focus Spell Necromancer gets "Spirit's Life Tap is probably best" but it still quite good.

I am in no way saying this is broken or overpowered, I just wanted to bring this up to anyone looking to playing Necromancer, especially Reaper. Being able to Tank without worry of spending Resources to heal yourself and letting your allies heal each other is a huge Boon to a party.

Living Nexus is cool

Living Nexus, brand new Uncommon Archetype in Impossible Magic. Allow me to summarize what you get as part of the dedication at lvl 2.

Absorb Magic and Overflowing Blade

Absorb Magic is a reaction to absorb a little bit of Magic from a spell or other magical ability within 30 ft of you, you then become Overflowing for 1 minute.

While Overflowing, you have a +1 status bonus against magical effects and the spell traditions.

Seems pretty good so far.

Overflowing Blade

While Overflowing, you can make a melee strike with 1 action, it deals an additional 1d4 Force Damage and you are no longer Overflowing. Increases at 10 and 18th level by 1d4.

This is meh, but with a spellcaster in the party, you could potentially get this bonus every turn. Personally I think it should be like Bespell Strikes and be the next strike you make for synergy with different kinds of Strikes like Vicious Swing, but i won't knock a free 1d4 Force Damage for a reaction potentially every turn.

I won't dive into the other feats they get in my main post but the rest are quite good, Magic Smellovision, healing, eye lasers, and energy resistance are all feat options, and only one of their features are once per day. This Archetype feels like a Force Kineticist, and is very cool to read through, my only issue is Overflowing Blade has terrible scaling, and removes Overflowing, when at level 8 you can deal 6d6 Force damage in a 60 ft line for the same price of simply being Overflowing. Other than that, this is a fantastic and fun Archetype!

Necromancer X Runesmith speculation

Considering both the Necromancer and Runesmith will be Intelligence classes, what do you all think the viability of the two with a dedication of the other will be? And which main class will be better to have as the main class? I'm imagining a Reaper Necromancer with the Runesmith Dedication could be quite good with the feat that allows to trace a rune with a strike, especially since you could create a thrall for Flanking as your previous action. Though this is all speculation if course.... What are yalls thoughts?

Automaton is ready for a Remaster

Automaton is ready for a proper remaster. Think about it, new Large Size, new Tanky Heritage, a Heavy Armor Reinforced Chassis. Perhaps a Golem Heritage for those who believe that Automaton doesn't fit in Pathfinder. Imagine all the possibilities! Even Tiny Automaton (distinct from Poppet TM) for all your little guys. Automaton has the potential to get a "Awakened Animal" treatment where there are hundreds of possibilities of types you could potentially play! Give us extreme customizability or give me death!
