I learned a new trick?
I know that I'm going to get half a dozen rude "Yeah, of course" responses, but here goes...
I try to recover the ruthex (brass threaded) inserts from my test prints and reuse them. That has always meant breaking the print apart or using a soldering iron to heat them and pull them out (covered in plastic!) Then clean them up and reuse them at another time.
What I did today blew my mind it was so easy. Boil a pot of water drop the part into the water for about 15-20 seconds with a screw in the insert. Take the part out or the water and pull on the screw with a pair of pliers. It came out so easily and cleanly. that I had to do a batch of them, it was so satisfying! 😜
Who knew!?!
