Women solo hiking Cotswold Way - Safety concerns?

For those who have hiked this, what’s the vibe? The photos looks so peaceful and serene. I’ve from the US and am selective about places I’ll hike alone. Any concern across the pond for creeps on the trail? How often do you see others on the trail?

Also, are there camping options too, or is staying in an inn what most do? I just learned about the Cotswold Way and now my algorithm is sending me so many beautiful videos that it’s on my bucket list now! 😍

Zometa and dental work?

I’m a breast cancer survivor on hormone blocker (aromatase inhibitor) that has caused significant bone loss in 2 years and I still have 3 years left on my meds. I’m 39F.

I read that it’s often recommended that any dental work needed should be done before getting on Zometa. I see my cancer center’s bone health team in a couple of weeks and Zometa will likely be in the conversation.

I need dental work that I’ve been putting off for quite a while because I can’t afford it. Not sure what to do. I have cavities and need my wisdom teeth out. I’m scared. Cancer has set us back significantly and my husband and I have both not been able to get dental care. We have insurance, but dental insurance sucks.

Poor Wheezie

So how are Sarah and Rafe both not freaking out because Groff is with Rose, which means he’s around Wheezie? I know they didn’t like that Grocf was in town and that he was with Rose, but Wheezie isn’t mentioned as a concern in those conversations.

Also, I was hoping for a scene where Wheezie is told about their mom in New Orleans. Rose is a hot mess and Wheezie deserves better. I would have loved to see that reunion and Rafe too (before he had to skedaddle). At least Sarah told Rafe about her though.

Justice for Wheez!

Bone loss from breast cancer meds - what now?

I am in my maintenance phase of breast cancer treatment. I was diagnosed in 2024 at age 36. Chemo did its job and I’m so grateful. I’m 39 now, and I just had my second bone density (Dexa) scan. My first was baseline in 2024 before I started ovarian suppression and hormone blocker, and everything was in the normal range. I was told to exercise. To do body weight exercise. To walk. To keep moving. To avoid being a couch potato. This would protect my bones as I was thrust into menopause very quickly and these meds are known causes of bone loss.

These meds have caused so much fatigue. I did a terrible job at being active for most of the 2 yrs I’ve been in my maintenance phase. In May of this year, I actually started working out again. Much too late. I regret it so much.

I’m 39 now with 15%-22% bone loss in all measured areas. My lower spine is the most statistically significant.

Any advice? I’m taking calcium and D3. I’m going to work out more consistently and really focus on my spine and large bones. I struggle with motivation due to fatigue. I just read about LIFTMOR and am considering incorporating these exercises multiple times daily. I’m so tired, but I have to do this if I want my bones to go the distance.

I’m hopeful they won’t try to make me stop these meds. I’m worried about having bone loss at such a young age, but I’m even more worried about stopping meds that could be preventing a cancer recurrence.

Bone loss from meds - what now?

I just had my second bone density (Dexa) scan. My first was baseline in 2024 before I started Zoladex and Letrozole, and everything was in the normal range. I was told to exercise. To do body weight exercise. To walk. To keep moving. To avoid being a couch potato.

These meds have caused so much fatigue. I did a terrible job at being active for most of the time I’ve been in my maintenance phase. In May of this year, I actually started working out again. Much too late. I regret it so much.

I was diagnosed at 36, and I’m 39 now with 15%-22% bone loss in all measured areas. My lower spine is the most statistically significant.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? I’m taking calcium and D3. I’m going to work out more consistently and really focus on my spine and large bones. I struggle with motivation and due to fatigue.

They won’t try to make me stop these meds will they? I’m worried about having bone loss at such a young age, but I’m even more worried about stopping meds that could be preventing recurrence.

Scenic Campsites for Tent Camping?

My friend and I are driving from different states and meeting in Arkansas for a camping trip. We are planning for August or maybe September. I’d like to find somewhere to camp where there is a beautiful view from our campsite. We love water, so a lake or river is perfect. We’d prefer somewhere with showers. We’d love to tube down the river (nothing extreme) and we both love hiking and would really enjoy a waterfall hike. We’d like room for 2 tents and a campfire. I don’t know if we can find something to fit all of these things, but if some activities aren’t a bad drive away, then that’s an option for us too. Thanks!
