Problem with Landlord and security money.

I’m renting a flat in an apartment.

Three issues:

1 ) The broker says the particular flat's owner lives in another state, and that he (the broker) will prepare the rental agreement, fax it to the owner, get both the owner’s signature and mine, and then have it notarized.

Today, the broker told me that the owner wants the advance security deposit of Rs 14000 to be paid via RTGS, while from next month onward I can pay the monthly rent through UPI.

I asked why, because UPI can handle much larger amounts even up to 1 lakh or more in many cases... so why specifically insist on RTGS for just Rs 14000?

My concern is if something goes wrong and this turns out to be fraudulent, RTGS transactions can still be traced, right? The beneficiary account holder can still be identified?

Am I overthinking the RTGS part here ??

I don’t understand why the owner can’t accept Rs 14000 through UPI, but is okay receiving Rs 8000 rent via UPI every month afterward ?

  1. Should I ask for the landlord Aadhar's card?

  2. How do I make sure I don't get in trouble in any way whatsoever?

Can this be a potential scam ?

I’m renting a flat in an apartment. The flat is a newly built one.

The broker says the particular flat's owner lives in another state, and that he (the broker) will prepare the rental agreement, fax it to the owner, get both the owner’s signature and mine, and then have it notarized.

My concern is if something goes wrong and this turns out to be fraudulent, RTGS transactions can still be traced, right? The beneficiary account holder can still be identified?

I also told the broker that before making any payment, I would need the owner’s Aadhaar card and phone number. The broker said he would whats app me a copy of the owner’s Aadhaar card.

Am I overthinking the RTGS part here ??

I don’t understand why the owner can’t accept Rs 14000 through UPI, but is okay receiving Rs 8000 rent via UPI every month afterward ?

Address proof for fiber connection ?

I recently rented a flat.

The landlord is currently out of town and will return next month.

He said he’ll prepare the rental agreement once he’s back. Since he’s a family friend, that’s fine with me.

But I’m not sure if I could get Jio fiber connection because the address on my Aadhaar card is my home address.

What to do?

Am I overthinking about security ?

I have to shift so I'm looking for flats.

I found this 1 BHK flat on the second floor of an apartment and it’s amazing.

The only thing bothering me is that there’s another 1 BHK directly opposite the one I went to see.

In most apartments, each flat has its own collapsible gate in front of the main entrance door, right?

But this setup is different.

Both 1 BHK flats share a single common collapsible gate.

So basically, when you stand in front of the collapsible gate, one flat is on the right and the other is on the left.

The landlord owns both flats and wants to rent them out separately. Both 1 BHKs are completely independent, with no internal connection between them.

But, the main entrance doors of both 1 bhk flats only have simple hasp-bolt locks with no additional secure locking system lol

I asked the landlord whether having a common collapsible gate makes it unsecured and whether each flat should ideally have its own separate gate? Because I don't know how the tenant from the other room might be. They could be a criminal or something. You just can't randomly trust anyone these days.

Now I can’t decide if I’m just being paranoid about the other tenant in the other 1 BHK, or if this is actually a valid concern.

What would you guys do?

Would you take the flat or keep looking for another one?

Can I take legal action against the landlord if something goes wrong ?

Check fiber Power Level from Router?

I wanted to check the RX optical power level from dashboard.

I logged into router admin dashboard but I can't seem to find the option. But some people said we could check optical power level from router dashboard?

How to check myself other than calling Jio technician?

What causes ping spikes, high jitter, other latency issues ?

Can bad fiber splicing, high/low power levels or an overall bad wired fiber installation cause random ping spikes, high jitter, packet loss or other latency issues?

What should I tell the fiber installation engineer to ensure the connection is properly installed and doesn't give me high ping spikes, jitter, packet loss or other latency related issues after installation?

Regarding Fiber installation...

During a wired Jio Fiber installation, what should I tell the technician to ensure I don’t experience ping spikes or latency issues later?

I’ve heard that during fiber splicing, the optical power level should be around -15 dBm to maintain a stable connection and avoid ping spikes or latency problems. Is that correct?

What other things should I check or ask the technician to ensure the connection remains stable and there's no line quality issue in the long run?

How many fiber connections can you take?

I got two jio sims.

One number already has an active Jio fiber connection and I don't want to cancel this connection.

Can I get another Jio fiber connection using the second Jio number at a different installation address, while using the same KYC ID, without cancelling the existing JioFiber connection linked to the first number?

Can you have more than one fiber connection ?

I already have a fiber connection, and I’m relocating.

Instead of requesting a relocation or cancelling the existing connection, can I apply for a new fiber connection using the same name and phone number but with a different installation address?

Jio fiber connectivity and other problems... ??

I currently use Jio fiber (wired) and I will be relocating but heard about problems from people.

1 . The flat I’m relocating to doesn’t have a FAT box on the light pole right beside the building. But, the very next light pole (around 7-8 walking steps away) does have one.

Will the Jio engineer install a FAT box for me, or will they pressure me to switch to Air Fiber instead?

  1. Approximately how much does it cost Jio to install a fiber FAT box? Any idea?

  2. On average, how much commission do Jio Fiber agents receive for each new Fiber connection booking?

  3. Do Jio Fiber agents receive commissions for relocation requests as well? I’m asking because I’ve heard from some people that Jio agents sometimes tell customers who are relocating to cancel their existing connection and apply for a new one instead.

Everyone, including our neighbors are saying to go between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. because there won’t be any lines and the crowd will be very small.

But I’m thinking. won’t most people think the same way and show up during that time?

Wouldn’t that actually make it the most crowded time?

What has your experience been? At what time is there usually little to no line and the least crowd?
