Is Europe getting a good deal?

This post is in relation to the European Union.

Not criticising the service from the seller, he's very good, but the price is higher and stock/selection is lower with long waiting times in comparison to the States. Or am I wrong?

[Seiko S800-0010] Refurb

Seikos 1993 answer to a ISO diver. It's a Japanese domestic model I believe.

It's got four buttons, it's got gold, black, red, green, white and mustard colours! a battery indicator and a futuristic seconds track.

So uncool it may actually be cool. Well to me that is.

I fixed the light (electroluminescent panel was broken), polished the scratched crystal, changed all the seals, gave it a going over, restored the coloured print on the bezel. Passed the pressure test and worn it sea since swimming since.

I Excel, so I do

Back when being stainless was something to brag about and a nice example from Wostenholm. .

Firth stainless, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firth\_Brown\_Steels

And why not, it was demonstrably better than carbon for many uses. Caused some problems for the Sheffield Cutlers wearing out dies and stamps but the industry adapted.

3 1/4" closed, buffalo slabs, nickle silver bolster, brass liners, probably 30's. Lovely little thing.

Here by default and hopefully tolerated as not quite a slippy!

Bontgen & Sabin's balisong by a different name. Their patent dates back to 1880. I'd place this later maybe 1910. Examples from earlier have a serif/spaced font.

3 1/4 inch closed and with a nice smooth tight action.

Interesting company, made the early SA and NSKK daggers for the baddies. It's a lovely piece and very well made.

Ibberson knife/manicure with a whole foot of "rustless" Chesterman rule. I'm guessing pre ww2 as that designation for stainless matches the period. The manicure file also appears hand cut.

The whole thing was seized in dried putty of some kind when I got it and was a pain to remove.

Great history has Ibbersons, love the violin mark.

The Stewart and Lloyd's Ltd were a pipe production company made famous for making the "PLUTO" (pipeline under the ocean) HAMEL petrol supply line which fed the allied forces after the d day landings.

I have a few of these ruler knives, they're a surprisingly handy thing to have on you :)

The fairies said I could take it!

Seasoned in a yr, faster than blackthorn, nearly as hard and more flexible.

Has a lovely wear mark on the shaft from another branch rubbing in the wind. Bend came out well after straightening (see table edge shots). Bark always has a lovely show of red, brown, gold and everything inetween after sanding and oiling.

45.5inch tall so less a Shellialagh/walking stick and more a rambling hill stick. Undecided on fitting a ferrule or just a rubber.
