Latin texts for beginners?

I've just finished all of my Latin courses at university and we mainly translated Cicero. I thought his speeches were quite hard, but I wanna stay in contact with the language. What type of literature would you recommend for beginners to read?

Is this a soft rejection or should I keep trying?

A few months ago I asked a friend of mine out on a date, who I used to crush on for a while. It took me a lot of courage, since I'm 22 and haven't had any sexual experiences or relationships so far. She said yes, but at the same time mentioned she wasn't sure yet what she was looking for. We went on one date at a cafe after that and I guess it went well. Right after, she was on vacation for a while, so we couldn't see each other. I asked her about it again in general terms later on, and she said she still wasn't sure (saying that we haven't talked about important stuff yet)

After that, we went to the cinema once. Last week, we had actually agreed to go on a date, but she cancelled last minute on the same day because of an appointment that came up. She didn't suggest a alternative date either, so I asked if next week would work. Then, this week, she asked me in the afternoon how long the whole thing would take. It immediately sounded like she wasn't motivated at all so I addressed that. I texted her that I only want to meet up if she actually wants to. So it got cancelled again. She did suggest that I could help her buy a birthday gift for a friend instead, but I didn't want to do that anymore, and it wouldn't have been a real date anyway. She hasn't made a suggestion for another date since. Am I in the friendzone or how would you read this? I'm a bit confused honestly.
