Where do I start??

Hi yall!! I’m coming back to and the question of where and how I get started. I’m currently bout to start college soon and I wanna at least attempt to start learning things or start clowning but idk where to start, I kinda decided on the name Dummy, cause I really like the idea of a clown that defines the sentence, “Pinocchio in real life”. I have a pointiest board of like some things I like, outfit pieces that I like the idea of and just general ideas, I really would like advice on like for where I currently am at where do I start, I have no skills or experience with clowning anything.

Circus noses

Hi so I just had a genuine question, so I wanted to get a clown nose that wouldn’t fall off for a decent price, I know red nose factory is a thing but I wanted to see if there were like nice/decent quality noses on like Amazon I can find or like websites for like cheap noses, it’s for a random thing

I wanna write a musical

As the title states, I wanna write a musical, it has subtle nods to the original Greek story “The Apple of Discord” but I wanna do it differently. The idea that I’ve come to is this,
“A heartfelt story of longing and chosen family, staring a young adult Paris who moves to the city after leaving home, finds himself in the middle of a war between gods, becoming a deciding factor in a battle.”

Now I have listened to a few musicals and there are aspects from those I wanna use in mine such as,

- taking inspo from EPIC, I want each of the Greek gods mentioned in the story and throughout the tale to have like a different instrument or sound to them in their respective songs and parts

- I want the big opening number to be similar to Hadestown in the sense of it would introduce the gods in the story one by one but also describe the setting somewhat as well

But this is all I really have and I wanted advice on like what I should focus on now, are there other things that I should be considering, what’s the next step, anything. I am very much in enemy territory when it comes to things like writing musicals or writing music really so I wanted to try something new and I wanted to get help and advice on what to do, thx and have a wonderful day/night.

Edit to add: The thoughts I have is like the Golden Apple is not an actual apple but a contract that gives the god in possession success and power that no other can compare to which is why all the gods in the story want it

Mythix Rewrite Question

So, Im currently starting to focus on the forms individually with my spinoff rewrite and i wanted to start with a form that i loved the cocnept for but really hated the Execution of it, Mythix. Now this pretains primarily with Musa and the ideas i have for her but some can pretain to other girls so I wanted to ask for general opinion as to what I should do,

  • So there’s two routes I can go in when it comes to her.

  1. There is the traditional route where I base her off of a Chinese mythological story or spirit
  2. Or, there is the fairytale aspect where I find fairytales or stories that I think work well with Musa

And heres the stuff I've come up with in terms of research,

Mythology route-

Sunü: An ancient goddess of music, medicine, and yin-yang cosmology. She is famously known as a master player of the se (a large ancient zither) whose haunting melodies could profoundly alter human emotions. Ancient goddess of music, medicine, and yin-yang cosmology. She is famously known as a master player of the se (a large ancient zither) whose haunting melodies could profoundly alter human emotions.

  • I believe that this could work for Musa considering her Asian heritage and specifically Chinese roots. I think it could make for interesting designs and concept because of Sunü’s connection to music and sound

Chang’e: Chang'e is the Chinese moon goddess of immortality, grace, and the moon itself. According to legend, she drank an elixir of immortality to protect it from her husband's greedy apprentice. She floated to the moon, where she now resides eternally with her loyal companion, the Jade Rabbit

  • I think this could work also cause of Musa’s heritage
  • But I also like this because it can relate back to her story with Riven, and how she would constantly seek for him but she never could fully reach him no matter what and I think it could create some really good parallels with it

Fairytale route-

The Pied Piper of Hamelin: The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a famous medieval German folktale. A charismatic piper rids the town of rats using his enchanted flute. When townspeople refuse to pay, he hypnotizes and steals their children in revenge.

  • This is the other route I could go in, the more fairytale route
  • Rather than mythology
  • I think this could also work because of the music theming and her artifact could be the Pipe Flute itself

The Little Mermaid: The youngest mermaid sacrifices her voice to a Sea Witch in exchange for legs. Desperate to win a prince's love to obtain an immortal soul, she endures excruciating pain with every step. Ultimately, the prince marries another, and the mermaid dissolves into sea foam but earns an immortal soul by becoming a spirit of the air

  • Similar to Chang’e, it matches to her tale with Riven
  • Also giving her a mermaid/oceanic theme could be like really cute if done right

Overall-

  • The plan is to either way I go in( that being either Chinese mythology or classic fairytales), her look is still gonna be inspired by Chinese culture and will be heavily influenced by it
  • Especially with her mask In my head being either a masquerade mask with a slight rococo theme to it, or a Chinese theatre mask

again i wanted generalized opinions on it so any suggestions are great, thank you and have a great rest of your day/evening

Clown

So, Hi again. thoguht of a new character idea (cause I can never not think about it) and i love the idea of a character not looking like the class they are (I.e a Sorcerer looking like a monk) and this new idea was basically a clown/jester theme. Now I wanna do warlock as the class, but idk which subclass to choose from. The idea is very blurry in my head but the idea was that the character's patron, was also a clown and the idea for the character themsleves was like blend classic jester/modern clowning(i.e. ringling brothers)/ and a loki type trickster vibe with a sorta tarot and playing card blend motif. I could just be rambling but i wanted to ask, what warlock subclass for the patron would be the best fit for them, I've done research on my own but i still can't fully understand and realize which is the best match, thx for the advice and suggestions nad feel free tob leave any ideas or suggestions you think would be neat.

Thank you and have a wonderful rest of your day/evening

Rewrite turn Spinoff

So I’ve been rewriting Winx alongside redesigning but after awhile, I just decided that I can’t do a rewrite so instead, I’m just making a spinoff for Winx called “Honor of Our Wings”. And it will then become the outline for any oc based groups or projects for me so I wanted to ask, what things do you think should be changed about the world of Magix, Alfea, Cloudtower, Red Fountain, etc.

Winx-sona fairy power

So for those who have Winxsona’s how did you decide on the fairy power for your fairy cause I have changed mine so much but I can’t seem to settle on one. Though most consistent pieces are,

- Moon
- Music

But now I want a water thing cause water is my favorite element, EVER. But now idk how to make those make sense and I don’t wanna just multiple titles but I do like titles that are “Fairy of […] and […]!”

Any help is appreciated, thanks and a nice day/night

Transformation Sequence

Hi so, I’ve finally designed my clown magical boy and I kinda wanna do like a transformation sequence but idk the best was to approach drawing that. So any tips on how to do it. Also I went in a different direction than anticipated he’s more like Madoka Magica style magical girl, very much a vigilante outlaw type

Fairy of Balance

So I am working on the idea of a fairy who is a fairy of balance but I don’t wanna make him feel like a generic yin yang based design and character so I wanna ask the question, if you did a fairy of Yin-Yang/Balance, how would you do their powers and how their magic works??

Cause the character idea was a kid who felt like an outcast and a villain til his powers fully developed and he became balance( he thought he was a fairy of shadows til the wings emerged and it was black and white on each side)

Outfit Ideas

So I’ve fully decided on Dummy as my Clowning Character and now I kinda wanna design the character to see it fully realized before I fully commit in real life. So following the original plan that I mentioned, I want Dummy to be kinda of this human sized ventriloquist/marionette puppet that is a clown so I don’t hate the idea of Pinocchio as an inspiration but like I wanna see if there was like other avenues to try. I definitely am a character clown with an Auguste style makeup so I kinda want not like a suit at all. I picture Dummy to be very energetic and active.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks have a great day/night

Clown Magical Boy???

So I wanna create a magical boy who is clown themed/clowning themed and I don’t have very many ideas as to what I wanna do with his story, tbh I barely have an idea for his powers just that I want a poc character with an Afro in his magical boy form who also looks nothing like his civilian counterpart and that he may have a clown nose as his transformation device and that in transformed state, he has full clown makeup and its framing his face stopping just under his chin and directly at the hairline, almost like a mask. So any ideas would be great and helpful thank you again and have a lovely day/night

So, I’m working on a character who’s main theming is like Arabian Nights and his powers are inspired by it but my issues are that I can’t seem to figure out a the power or like how his magic/spells would work with that theming. Like Prophecy and Storytelling are obvious ones but then in terms of like spell names and usage, what can I really do with it. I would love some help with either figuring out how to use those elements in spell names and such or finding other ways to use the title with a different power concept. Thank you an have a good day/night

So as I’ve done some more digging I’ve decided that after highschool and in college, I wanna go to like more hospital clown work. Like not necessarily a big birthday party or like big event clown but like a hospital clown or like if a school wants a small fun clown show, something like that where it’s not as tiring but still good work. And now I kinda wanna decide on not only a name but also like a generalized idea for the type of clown I wanna portray. The idea I’ve had for a while was a clown who was the human equivalent of a ventriloquist/wind up puppet/doll.

Cause I had this funny idea for like a gag inspired by like winding up a windup doll the like a foam turning key and I just act like a puppet but the only name that I came up with for that was Dummy. And while it’s a very on the nose kinda name, I wanna explore others. Also any suggestions on like the outfit I should go for, I was thinking more sporty but I’m fine with anything really( my first ever idea was a mixture of formal and sporty but now I’m not fully sure)

Edit to add: I’m planning on getting the outfit made by Priscilla Mooseburger

As the title states, I’m currently working on a character who is very much upper class-man style but with a more serene like attitude to contrast his very vain and elegant style so I wanted him to portray a French name that also has a connection not the seas cause his magic/powers are water based( also I gave him a slight swan theming) so I need help with names hope you have a pleasant evening or morning, day or night.

So to cut to the chase, my issue with the peacock miraculous is its concept vs. its power. Like the power of the peacock miraculous has is fine. It’s a pretty decent power, but then comes the question of how do you explain the power making sense and relating in time back to the concept of peacock miraculous represents. Like if you had told me the miraculous of the peacocks concept was something like vitality life or something of the sorts I would believe you, but if you had told me it was emotion. I wouldn’t believe you because the power doesn’t relate to emotion at all.

So rectify this in my rewrite, I changed the concept. I gave the butterfly miraculous the concept of emotion and changed its power entirely, leaving the Peacock miraculous’s power alone by changing its concept from E****motion to M****anifestation that way when you explain the power and how it makes sense to the concept within the world, it makes sense.

So I’m bout to start college and I wanna do clowning as a hobby on the side but I also wanna like sorta find a clown to hopefully apprentice under and just like learn the ropes but I don’t know the best way to ask. What is the best way or best time to ask them if they wouldn’t mind teaching me or like apprenticing under them? At least for the summers while I’m not in school so I won’t be too busy? Thank you for the advice and have a wonderful day/night
