Small imperfections in block/cylinder lip. Send it?

2AR-FE that I picked up after it hydrolocked when the teen driving decided his tC should be a boat.

Three of the interior cylinder lips have some small damage - but well below where the rings travel.

Should I clean up the edges to smooth and send it? Or is this aluminum block destined to be Coke cans? (Note - I haven’t mic’d anything yet, so this may be moot, but would rather know it’s useable prior to doing any more work on it).

Also included a pic of the rods - kid bent 3 of 4. Not bad.

Thanks so much!

2022 G30 with 48V Mild Hybrid Drive Belt Service Question

Purusing RealOEM, and found a particular "value" package for my 540i for the drive belt service (BMW part #11285B4FCC9). I expected the belt, tensioner and associated mounting bolts, but did not expect the front crank seal and harmonic balancer to be part of the package.

Is there something in particular about the 48V system that necessitates the replacement of the front seal and balancer? I have no problem doing the work or spending the cash, but just curious about this particular package and if techs 'round these parts have noticed failures in those components.

Thanks!

Small Engine Specific Specialty Tools

Howdy all.

Hobbyist car mechanic here, and looking to get into tinkering with small engines. I have a decent set of full-size motor tooling (all the "normal" tools, some specialty tooling for brake/suspension/cooling system work, along with a good deal of diagnostic equipment - e.g. compression tester, leakdown tester, etc.), but what are the things that make life easier for small engine repair that would NOT be found in a generalist/hobbyist toolbox?

Thanks a ton in advance for any knowledge/ideas you can drop!
