Billy Gil Appreciation Post
Today might be Billy’s “apex mountain”. He spends 45 min talking baseball with on the Bill Simmons Podcast (in typical Billy fashion), he’s of course needling Joel Anderson on Ringer Tailgate and he’s on Ringer NFL. Two of these podcasts are on Netflix. Never would have imagined this trajectory for him, it’s really great to see.

The Tombot Software update was a success!!!
Following his less than stellar performance earlier this week, it looks like The Ringer IT team took the Tombot back to the shop and installed some much needed updates. Out with the rambling and time hogging, in with the short answers and spreading the time around features. Much more fun episode today and Tom even managed a chuckle or two.

I liked Billy Gill on Le Batard but he's really frustrating on the Ringer NFL show
He keeps launching into these long-winded bits, like stuff that feels pre-scripted, and Sheil is too polite to rein him in. I was hoping the show would get better but it still feels inessential.

Similar title as two weeks ago, but a different format. Billy came up with the topics and drove the show. Tom still makes us wonder if his contract pays him by the number of words he says and still reluctant to play along with the sillier topics, but he was more relaxed. Fun watch.

A plane belonging to the Russian Special Flight Squadron, used to fly the Russian president and other VIPs, is currently on its way to Casablanca. Casablanca has been used in the past as a stop on the way to Havana. Could this plane be going to pick up Raul?
