Would this be a safe way to hook up a generator to my AC
I was thinking of buying a second disconnect box and connecting to the contacts on the AC. It would essentially be double-lugged. I would then put a plug on the disconnect box to plug into the generator. I would throw out one of the pull-outs so that only one disconnect box will allow power flow at a time. My only concern is the bonding. Since the disconnect box only disconnects L1 and L2 but not the neutral if that would result in a double bond if using a bonded generator. I will also be installing a micro-air to help reduce the power demand. Im hoping to be able to power my 5 ton carrier that currently has a 107LRA on as small of a generator as possible to help with fuel consumption. We don't have natural gas so I will likely be using gasoline.
