Let's talking about the Chapter 5 Dark World.

Obviously, it made sense that the Dark World would be in Asgore's store.

But this part of the chapter has too many problems.

Why is the Dark World so...feudal Japan?

At no point in the game is it shown or stated that Asgore was a fan of Japan.

On the contrary, Asgore says he likes superhero comics and that he used to watch a cowboy show with Kris, but the show was cancelled.

So WHY NOT have included one or more superhero Darkners or a flowers and superhero themed Dark World? It would have made more sense than... Japan.

Since chapter 1, the festival has been hyped and has excellent foreshadowing, especially since it is also mentioned in chapters 2 and 4 (I don't remember if it's mentioned in chapter 3, though.) But what we got was very short, even uninteresting.

Speaking of the festival, I must talk about the romantic relationship between Susie and Noelle.

The romantic relationship between Susie and Noelle (or Suselle) is EXTREMELY forced.

In chapter 1, Noelle doesn't really seem to have romantic feelings for Susie, and Susie hardly ever mentions Noelle in that chapter.

But it was retconned in chapter 2 and that's where it starts to become a problem.

Note: I only played the Snowgrave route to get past the puzzle section of Queen's Castle, so expect me to barely mention any elements of the normal route.

The only interaction Susie and Noelle have in Chapter 2 is ONE interaction where Noelle asks Susie if she has a tail (which is EXTREMELY strange as a way to approach a girl/boy). Shocked by Noelle's very indiscreet remarks, Susie tells her she doesn't have a tail. Noelle immediately gathers her things and leaves the computer room.

What was that stupid interaction? Since when do you ask your crush if they have a tail??? I'm sorry, that literally makes no sense from a flirting point of view. ( Unless it's supposed to be a joke and I didn't get it.)

In chapter 3 they have no interaction (which makes sense since Noelle wasn't at Kris's house when he created the Dark Fountain).

From chapter 4 onwards, that's where it becomes more or less interesting to discuss.

For context, Noelle invites Kris and Susie to study at her house.

There are Suselle moments, for example, when they're two points away from discovering the player's soul.

Knowing that they've only been talking for like one or two days at that point in the game (it's too short a time for a amourous relation)

Especially since there's a moment when they're about to hug (EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE ONLY BEEN TALKING FOR 1 OR 2 DAYS)

It is canonically known that Deltarune takes place over one week. This makes the relationship even more inconsistent.

TAKING ABOUT CHAPTER 5 ( i will kinda ignore the Suselle ship since i accidentally hold the C button)

Like I said at the beginning regarding the festival, we were expecting something amazing, but the game really hyped us up on it... so that we have two or three obligatory interactions and of course the famous Suselle moment which makes no sense.

In chapter 5, Susie and Noelle declare their love for each other, but the problem is that it happens way too fast and it's way too forced.

In conclusion, I find that Suselle is a ship that doesn't take its time, and the romantic relationship between Susie and Noelle doesn't seem natural and is very forced (You don't just get into a relationship in two or three days)

Let's talk about the characters. I don't like them at all. Apart from Aqua, none of the other new Darkner characters have made me appreciate them.

Can someone explain to me why the golden flower, which logically parallels Chara and also Kris's childhood... IS A TWINK???

Why does he look like Rudy?

Why does he say he's Asgore's best friend when they've only just met?

Why is he so annoying?

Why is this character fully voiced??? Thank goodness we can disable it, otherwise I would have gone crazy.

If hes supposed to be a flower... SO WHY DOESN'T ITS DESIGN LOOK LIKE A FLOWER??? (This problem is only for new Darkners) Seriously! Even Tenna, who is a TV in the Light World, has a TV-shaped head in the Dark World.

Let's talk about his name, "Flowery." It's so uncreative; he could have been called Florian, for example. That would still have the flower reference without being literally Flowey's name with a letter in more.

I have nothing to say about Aqua. She's cute and adorable, and I really like her personality, even though Toby Fox plagiarized to me the concept of the little girl who wants to kill The protagonist, while thinking she's playing a game. Well, that's why I like Aqua. She's the only LIKEABLE character in the chapter.

As for Seth, I don't really like her. She seems like a pale imitation of Berdly, without what makes the character likable. Even though she forms a rather fraternal duo with Aqua, it doesn't save her character.

I don't like Blue. Her personality is basically a cliché of Yoda's philosophical pronouncements from Star Wars, and aside from being graceful and pretty and a very good dancer... That's not enough to make her a likeable character.

I like Yellow a little more. Beyond being an obvious reference to Woody from Toy Story and finally making the Woody Theory more or less canon, and being the Deltarune equivalent of Clover (even if Cole from the Deltarune Yellow fangame is a way better parallel to the UT justice Soul than him ), His suicidal moments made me laugh, but... it's one of the character's flaws. You probably remember the memes where Tenna is about to commit suicide? It was funny because Tenna was a very emotionally sensitive character, but... Let's face it. When a meme is canon, it loses its credibility and humor. I still like Yellow, but the fact that he seems to have been created just to please the community takes me away from the character.

For Orange, we first have to talk about the design. Why she's a mouse? It would have made SO much more sense for her to be a little seed. Especially since her personality is very nice, but she's just a very scared kid who wants to intimidate grown-ups. I like it, but the problem is her design, which is nothing like a human compared to other flowers. I like Orange despite a few flaws.

Let's talk a little about Green. I really like this grandmother design. Especially since grandmothers are supposed to be very kind, which the character's design and vibe manage to convey wonderfully. The problem is that she doesn't speak. I can understand why Kris doesn't speak because he's controlled by the player, but not Green. Green should have had dialogues that sound very grandmotherly. That would have made the character more likeable instead of her making small hand gestures and holding up signs to express herself. And I really like her dynamic with Orange. It has EXACTLY the vibes of a grandmother trying to have a good time with her grandchildren. But once again, the design is anything but flowery. I wonder if Toby Fox knows how to design characters that look like flowers without them being reskins of Flowey or very uncanny designs like Woody and Aqua.

Here is my opinion on the Darkners Flowers and on each of them.

Let's now turn to the main character of the chapter (ASSgore)

Asgore is very well characterized. And I really like the fact that he's trying to solve the problem of Dess's disappearance and the fact that he literally makes a death threat against the one who created the Dark World (that's Kris...) And at least it gives him more of an aura than he had in Undertale. Especially the moment when he gets Kris and Susie out of the Dark World, telling them not to bother him while he's half in the Dark World. Even the remix of his theme is incredible. In short, Toby Fox adapted Asgore and his personality very well. The only problem is, why isn't he the final boss of the chapter? It could have been interesting from a narrative standpoint. But unfortunately not.

Let's now talk about the secret boss, and I'm likely to get extremely salty.

Why is the secret boss literally Mad Mew Mew from Undertale? So I can understand that yes it's a cat, yes its design has pink and yellow, and that it has a hidden dialogue where it talks about FRIEND. And that it can be unlocked with pink coins. But this boss is SHIT. It makes absolutely no sense that she's there. The doll she's supposed to be in the Light World is OUTSIDE of Asgore's shop, which only adds to the inconsistency. And her fight is pointless. Why should I have to beat a secret boss on pacifist route, aka the worst route in the game? All this for a date that Susie is going to literally ruin by saying that Kris is flirting with everyone.

There were so many better choices than Mad Mew Mew for the FINAL SECRET BOSS. Did you misread? OK. THE FINAL SECRET BOSS. Do you realize how ICONIC this is supposed to be? Well, forget it, because Toby Fox made the WORST possible choice for the FINAL SECRET BOSS OF THE GAME.

We could have either Sans (to better develop Ralsei and we will talk about Ralsei again) or FRIEND INSIDE ME or DEVICE\_FRIEND or a monochrome Woody or an evil Tenna. In short. There are SO MANY fan-made concepts that could have been incredible officially. INSTEAD OF REUSING MAD MEW MEW.

After venting my anger at the secret boss, let's talk about the Fun Gang. I don't know what happened, but it seems Toby Fox swapped the personalities of HIS OWN CHARACTERS.

Kris does not change since he still has no dialogue other than the player's choices.

As for Susie and Ralsei... I said I was going to talk about it and let me say the terms.

Susie's personality is still somewhat acceptable. Despite the fact that her personality in chapter 5 can literally be summed up as "Holy shit!! Two cakes!!" And my problem is that she's WAY too cheerful, whereas given what happened in chapter 4, she should be more serious and involved in the prophecy. while retaining her character development but regressing to her behavior from chapter 1 with Flowery (whom I will now call Human Flowey for a good reason) Seriously, why isn't Susie as tough as she used to be??? Anyway, I don't know what they did to Susie other than turn her into a hyperactive ball of joy.

Ralsei's personality is LITERALLY the opposite of his true personality. And in doing so, they MASSACRED his character. Why is he making death threats like "I'm going to burn you alive" to Human Flowey? Ralsei's personality in this chapter can literally be summed up with "I FUCKING HATE YOU I HOPE YOU DIE" which is COMPLETELY the opposite of his character. Why is he so mean to Orange??? It would make more sense if Susie were the mean one, not Ralsei. Seriously, since Orange doesn't like being reminded that she's a mouse, what does Ralsei do? He makes fun of her by making puns about mice, cheese, and ratatouille. He even cosplays as a mouse... JUST TO ANNOY ORANGE.

I don't know who replaced Toby Fox as the writer of Susie and Ralsei, but please let that person create their own characters instead of ruining existing ones.

After discussing the poor characterization of the Fun Gang, let's talk about the areas and the OST of chapter 5.

The areas are very pretty even if it doesn't make sense that there are suns in the Dark World. But nothing will dethrone the sanctuaries of chapter 4. The OST for chapter 5 is MID. I didn't feel that incredible vibe that we've all felt when listening to UTDR music for the first time. But since the trailer, I'm convinced it's a fan take, which unfortunately I think contributed to the fact that I found the OST of chapter 5 EXTREMELY bad compared to those of the previous chapters.

Let's now talk about the worst gameplay after Zelda chapter 3, and that's platformer mode.

I don't know what's going on with Deltarune, but instead of making the combat system more complex and interesting, since chapter 3 it seems to be trying to replace the RPG elements with other gameplay styles. It was as if Toby Fox was afraid that people wouldn't understand that the combat system was more complex.

For Chapter 2, I didn't mind the polygonal punch-out gameplay because it only lasts a minute or two, and the final boss, who uses this gameplay, can be skipped thanks to the Snowgrave Route.

Chapter 3 is a completely different story. Because we're forced to playthrough TWO SECTIONS IN 8-BIT ZELDA. And we were lucky again, because originally we were supposed to have to play a THIRD section in 8-bit Zelda??? Are you FUCKING kidding me?! And let's not even talk about the secret boss (it's already a terrible idea that a secret boss doesn't have the basic RPG Deltarune gameplay) And this boss is Eram/Mantle Holder/John Mantle/Jean Cape and this little son of a dog made me break TWO CONTROLLERS. I just fought him again for the release of chapter 5 and he's still just as much crap.

Thankfully, chapter 4 doesn't have any nonsense like that. There are indeed claws that allow you to move on walls, but that's a mechanic specific to the overworld, so it's a thousand times more acceptable than completely changing the gameplay.

But chapter 5 decided to take this stupid idea of a total gameplay change and transform it into a platformer. WHAT AM I PLAYING??? AM I PLAYING DELTARUNE OR ZELDA OR MARIO???? WHAT'S IT GOING TO BE? ARE WE GOING TO PLAY POKÉMON IN CHAPTERS 6 AND 7??? Je n'aime pas du tout ce gameplay. Ça reste plus maîtrisable que le gameplay a la Zelda du chapitre 3. And it's more in-depth, with its own bosses and more secrets to uncover in this gameplay. But please. Stop. Changing. The. Gameplay. With. Every. Fucking. New. Chapter.

That was my very long review of chapter 5. If I don't talk about the Weird Route, it's because, just like in chapter 4, it's just dialogue without any real gameplay.

I've finished the Fourside story arc and the horrible, worst area of the game, Moonside. I've returned to Threed, but how do I get to Summers???

Hello. I've been playing Earthbound and I haven't finished the game. I've played about 8 to 9 hours of the game. And I've reached Moonside. There are a lot of things wrong with this area.

1 You cannot access this area because an NPC is blocking the passage. Why??? Seriously, why put an NPC there to block the player in the current area???

2 This area makes NO SENSE. J'ai I've played the game several times and every time I get to Moonside I have an internal thought like "Damn, it's true there's this shitty area... Because I HATE this area. Because yes and no are reversed. Why change a fundamental rule for one moment in the game? So when I want to get medical treatment in a hotel or hospital, I have to REVERSE WHAT IS LOGICAL IN MY BRAIN. And it's super annoying to make a misclick just because you have a NORMAL logic based on yes means yes and no means no. The worst part is that there are invisible walls everywhere! I don't know if these are poorly coded collision zones or if it's intentional, but it's a PAIN in the ass to check EVERY wall and PRAY that it's the right one! I know there are NPCs that teleport you, but the problem is they all teleport you RIGHT IN FRONT of where the golden statue is... EXCEPT THE PASSAGE IS STILL BLOCKED BY SOME DAMN NPC! The worst part is that this NPC literally tells you he's just there to block you, not to annoy you by making you go ALL THE WAY AROUND!

Seriously, this is the worst area in the game before the desert tunnel.

If anyone knows how to appreciate this area and cross it without losing their mind, I'm all ears.

Hello. While modding Undertale, I found some unused dialogue that all has the suffix "demon" followed by a letter of the alphabet. Here is the text in question.

"Greetings.

You have made yourself completely clear.

Understood.

I, your humble servant, will follow you to the utmost…"

The way this text is written reminds me of Chara's dialogues when you finish a genocide run because it sounds quite eloquent and there are only two characters in the game who use the word " greetings" Toriel, except it's a genocide run, which means we killed her and at the end of the Genocide Route, Chara introduces herself by saying "Greetings" and referring to herself as the demon who arrives when her name is called. And these unused texts that have the suffix "demon" seem to be written for Chara. I think it should be used at this point or after completing 3 to 5 genocide runs.

Why is this text unused?

I have no idea.
