This thing is going to taunt me for a long, long time (SP)

This thing is going to taunt me for a long, long time (SP)

Recently got back into SP PD2. I created a Duriel farming sorc and found Eth Gavel that rolled decent enough. Landed the god corrupt, but I can't do anything with it. It just sits in my stash... menacingly. I found one Ohm so far, and used it to make a CTA.

Also quick question
If I do manage to find a Zod, should I up this? Or is it better to have the higher min damage?
Probably WW or leap Barb.

I present you with my knife, Ol' Relianyl. A Junkie's Cutlass, and my attempt at achieving the highest sheet damage I could.

To be clear this isn't really a functional build. This was just me stacking as many effects as I had knowledge of to get the highest sheet damage I possibly could. This character lived about 5 more second after taking this screenshot. I have an actual functional build that doesn't rely on all the multiplicative nonsense. Really I just wanted to end my playthrough with a big, big number and I thought it was worthwhile to share with a sub that might appreciate the effort.

I do have mods and Creations, but for this I tried to make sure everything was kosher and in-line with the vanilla game.

My strength at the moment of the screenshot was 70. And that was achieved through a combination of gear, consumables, and a single perk. I'll make a quick breakdown.

Base Strength: 12

  • I leveled strength to 10, switched to survival, sat in a chair for a few days, then used the You're Special Book to boost it to 11. After switching back to Very Hard I grabbed the bobblehead

Strength From Perks: 2

  • Solar Powered - 2

Strength from Equipment: 36

  • 5x Rad Powered armor - 35
  • Army Fatigues -1

Strength From Consumables: 22

  • Bufftats - 3
  • Psychobuff - 3
  • Dirty Wastelander - 6
  • Grilled Hermit Crab - 2
  • Strong Sludge Cocktail - 5
  • SCAV #5 - 3 (this isn't really a consumable but I didn't know where to put it)

**That makes my final strength 72, but I lose 2 from the remaining withdrawals that weren't worth getting rid of. Additionally, Junkies itself with max addictions normally increases base damage of the weapon by 180%, but with the cocktail I took to increase the sheet dmg, it was only increasing my weapon's base damage by 135%.

Other Multipliers

  • Rooted - 50%
  • Big Leagues - 100%
  • Nerd Rage - 40%
  • Bloody Mess - 15%
  • Lone Wanderer - 25%
  • Pack Alpha - 25%
  • Inquisitor of Atom - 100%

I'm pretty positive I'm missing information. If it comes to me then I'll edit the body of this post. Also there's no way I hit it from every angle and I'm sure there are people out there with a lot more knowledge that could squeeze out more effective damage, but I think I did a pretty decent job.

By the way, Here is the weapon when I'm just going about the game normally. The damage is still kind of wild, but it's without all the consumables and conditional effects like Nerd Rage. The number is also misleading because of Rooted. I'm normally just running around stabbing shit, so rooted isn't having any effect. But once you open your pip-boy, the game considers you stationary.

Gunner XP Farm min-max showcase. 45k+ experience. lvl 76-84

New playthrough, new build, new gunner farm. This time with an eye toward min-maxing the total xp I can get per round. This is nearly identical to a farm I built in my last post. The difference mainly rests in my gear.

The name of the game is Int stacking. Each point grants an additional 3% more experience earned. Through gear and drugs I was able to bring my int to 30, which translates to 90% more experience earned.

——————————————————————————————

Int stacking breakdown:

10 hard points into Intelligence
5 points from the Sharp's legendary effect
4 points from the Inquisitor's Cowl (scaled with rads)
3 points from Night Person
5 points from Berry Mentats
2 points from x-cell
1 point from the vault 88 overseer terminal

Other xp multipliers:
15% from Lover's Embrace
10% from Captain's Feast (one-time consumable I decided to use for the recording)
3x xp from every kill from Idiot Savant rank 3 (MASSIVE CONTRIBUTOR)

——————————————————————————————

The strategy is pretty straightforward with a few pieces of nuance.

For readability's sake I'll just make a numbered step-by-step

  1. Climb the tower
  2. Use the bed to engage in a little snu-snu with Cait
  3. Stab Cait like a psychopath (this one serves no purpose, I just messed the order up and got a little stabhappy)
  4. Build shelves until you trigger Idiot Savant (rank 3). This can take a while with super high Int.
  5. Stab Cait again (this time it's important that she's down for the next step)
  6. Open the cages (If Cait is still up then they like to take potshots at her from inside their cage instead of falling down like good little xp sacks).
  7. Open inventory and take Berry Mentats, X-cell, Captain's Feast)
  8. Switch to Big Boy!
  9. Land a nuke crit, preferably near the center to catch everyone. I was lucky enough to get everyone with this recording. There's usually a couple miracles who somehow survive the explosion.
  10. Watch the XP roll in. 45,845 xp to be exact if the displays are to be believed. 7.5ish levels starting at 76, very close to 77.

——————————————————————————————

I know for a fact that are a couple of small changes I could have made to eek out a bit more xp. For instance I'm playing a Junkies build and with 12 addictions I take a -2 hit to my int pool. I clear away one of those withdrawal effects by taking x-cell, but I forgot to take a daddy-o to clear off the second. That's 3% xp I'm missing. Not the biggest deal, but a little irksome. I'm not about to re-record, though.

If you search through my history you'll see that I shared a similar, though non-optimized, farm before. This is a nearly identical tower. 18 cages per level and 5 levels high for a total of 90 cages. If I ever make this tower again, instead of a 6x6 cell base I'll probably make it 7x6 so I can squeeze in 2 more cages per level. I'm wary about making the tower too big, however, because I don't feel like clearing up a bunch of gunners that didn't get caught in the explosion. But I accept that I am leaving xp on the table.

——————————————————————————————

The farm was made on Spectacle Island over water to avoid any falling deaths.

This was designed as pure xp farm. I'm not about to swim around collecting gear off the corpses. Since the corpses are floating I doubt there is any real way to automate the cleanup step. But if you have an idea totally hit me up.

I used Big Boy for it's two shot effect, but if you're specd for explosive damage than it might be better to use a MIRV fat boy for the spread. In fact, It's totally possible that I'm missing out by not attaching one on mine. Something to consider. I'll just need some point sin Gun Nut.

Also please note: This is a pretty simple build all things considered. It's just a little resource/cap intensive. But if you're not particularly experienced with base building, then make sure that you wire all the cages to each other before moving onto the next level. Then when you finish a level, try to wire one of the cages to a cage from the level below it. Doing this while building is a lot easier than trying manage everything when the whole tower is build. Also if you don't about switches, then make sure you have a cage up top connected to the switch, and the switch connected to your power source. I put the generator on the bottom and carried the line from the switch to generator using a couple pylons, but it's probably easier just to extend some floors and build the generator at the top.

I'm looking for all the different ways to stack my magicka permanently (no infinite magicka exploit)

I made an Atronach 100% spell absorb character a while ago and shared it with this sub, but I decided to take another swing at it. Like before I'll use Telekinesis to keep my magicka topped up. This time with the intention to really min-max my permanent magicka pool. The more magicka I have, then the more I can invest in the spell's total magicka cost and still magicka battery.

I have a decent amount of knowledge, but there are people in this community who know a lot more. The purpose of this thread is mostly to check to see if I've covered all my bases, or if there's some specific thing I'm missing.

I'm not interested in the infinite magicka exploit, but I am fine with small exploits. For instance I allowed myself to be jailed while wearing the Necromancer's Amulet, so now the effects are permanently a part of me, allowing me to also equip the Spell-Drinker Amulet to achieve 101% spell absorption without sacrificing 50 magicka on another slot. I'm also not particularly interested in relying on alchemy to fortify my magicka. I'm looking for permanent power.

So currently my character is broken down like this:

Sources of Magicka:
High Elf - 100
Atronach - 150
Base Intelligence (110) - 220
Necromancer's Amulet - 158
Sorcerer's Ring - 25
Sigil Stone enchants - 350

Grand Total = 1003

If the Guru's out there have any obscure arcane knowledge to share I'd appreciate it.

Hit an overflow glitch while training Athletics beyond 255, and it wrapped around to a negative value

Trained 1 point beyond 255. Note the training cost is now -2,550

Forgive the name. It's a bit of a meme.

I remember seeing speedrunners use underflow glitches to get 255 of a particular item in their inventory, so I guess this makes sense in a way. I just never expected to hit it in a game that came out so recently. It's quite interesting.

I'm certainly not upset. This character is pretty cheesy to begin with, so putting a hard limit on it is probably a good thing lol. At any rate, I think 255 baseline athletics at lvl 32 will have to do. I'll throw the rest in acrobatics to see if I can hit that hard cap as well.

Just ID'd a perfect Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac

Dropped from a Blood Knight in dlvl 16. Right before that I Id'd a 40%/13 Obsidian Ring of the Heavens. Thought that was pretty good.

Needless to say, I'm about to bust.
