How do you got diagnosed?

Hi,

I am currently on mesalazine for maybe a month or two but a very low dosis. Which still helped me. No more 10 times bm a day (never had blood), less mucus, overall better feeling.

Last appointment was 1 week ago and my doctor told me I should keep on taking the meds and he will check up in 3 months.

That set me off. As bad as a positive disgnosis with UC is, it's at least a diagnosis that I can deal with and I am not fighting against the unknown.

So there is no more improvement, symptoms are little bit better but I am still dealing with them on a daily basis. And it's somehow frustrating to wait for the next appointment. I was hoping for some blood testing or something else, but just waiting feels odd.

I had a coloscopy a year ago with negative results. Bloodwork showed increased inflammatory values.

Am I on a wrong path? Should I see another doctor?

Edit: I never got the final diagnosis UC
