Hey, I’m 15dpo. Very early and aware due to PCOS that my chances of miscarrying are higher. I didn’t expect to take so quick. For some FAQ answers

I used “just a baby” to find donor. We are based in UK so donor has parental rights but has agreed to relinquish so partner can adopt (we are an lgbtq couple). My partner is is a stunning trans man. And donor is a lovely guy who just doesn’t want kids.

- We booked a hotel and inseminated on the day of my LH peak and the day after. We did twice on LH peak day and the next morning, which happened to be my partners birthday lol

- 9 days later I saw a small line on first response and the rest is history. Confirmed at hospital.
Now just leaving it to the planet

- Some things that were key for me was enjoying the insemination day. After we inseminated. All three of us went for walks, played ps4 in hotel (course we brought it along haha), sat in the sun, sang karaoke songs. It was lovely.

- I also didn’t expect to take so my lower expectations allowed me to feel less stress free
I used a syringe and no pre-seed (only adding coz everyone uses and I got stressed after realising how many people use and thought I messed up)

- First go: I had the big O as I told partner to push syringe in. Second go, big o after, next morning big o right before.

P.s getting a big o on command for me was draining and only thing I found stressful. It’s not a sexy thing very clinical but yeah have your toys on stand by x

Good luck to everyone. Whatever this journey is like for me I hope this was helpful for anyone who needed it x

Urgent advice needed please

Hello,
I tested positive at 9po on easy@home strips. Been testing daily and have been seeing lines get a little darker and introduced digital tests too. I tested positive this morning

Anyways, this afternoon I had a little bit of spotting and I wanted to make sure I was okay so I took myself to A&E. This is my first pregnancy and I would rather be over cautious. Me and partner arrived at 21:30pm. We were first scene at 22:15 where we were asked to do a wee sample. The nurse told me to and then to drop it in a box near nurses station so I did so and went back to waiting room.

Then I got called again by another nurse at midnight. I was expecting to hear about the results of wee sample but she proceeded to tell me she wanted me to do a wee sample and blood test. I explained I’ve already done a wee sample and was just waiting for result. She said I should have already had that tested and said she would need me to do another one. I did this and did blood tests etc and back to waiting room. She also said she would hand my urine straight to doctors to avoid me being waiting around for confirmation (she was lovely).

Fast forward to 3:30am and I get called by a doctor to discuss what I thought would be all results. He told me my blood was fine (which was great but was expecting to hear about HCG) and then sort of rounded the chat. I asked him about my urine sample so I can have confirmation of pregnancy. He was confused. This is where I learned my second urine sample had also been misplaced. He asked me to wait in the main waiting room, but I decided to wait by nurses station instead. When he thought we were gone I could ask him frantically ask everyone where my sample was. He eventually went into the box where my very first urine sample taken just under 5 hours ago was sitting in room temperature. He rushed the sample as my partner went back in and he was stressed. He eventually told us we were actually negative (I was positive this morning). I asked him how come I was positive on 2 different types of tests this morning and even if I had a chemical surely HCG would still be present by evening. He dismissed it and said well one of my strips were faint (I’m only 12dpo) and then ignored the digital with a big fat positive. I asked him if it was possible that HCG was lost due to my sample being left so long (this is clinically accurate and viable) and he dismissed me again. I am not being dangerously hopeful, I genuinely believe something was off about everything. From two lost samples to him testing something the first doctor specifically said should have been done within 30 mins. He made us feel uncomfortable to ask for another test so we have just left completely confused.

I have no idea if I’m pregnant. Everything I search states nothing should be tested after 4 hours because the tests are unreliable but if the doctor says it’s fine… is it fine?

9 dpo first time try - is this real?

I have PCOS so I mentally prepared for a year of negatives. Is this a POS? Will test every 2 days. My fiancé is convinced of a but I guess I’m in denial or just in too much shock. Is it happening?

1st Time AI full experience, transparent details. AMA. Regular updates will be included

Hello, I wanted to share my first time try for anyone who is trying for their first time also.

We picked a donor using an app, as other methods would have been too pricey to be sustainable. We chose ‘Just a baby’. Once we found our donor, we did medical background exchanges (sperm analysis, physical mental health, pre-existing fertility issues etc). Once the important information was exchanged, we booked our hotel date as me (female) and my partner (trans FTM) did not want to do this in our own space. The donor is a sweet guy who we got on with very well. We agreed in advance a guideline of what the day would look like so nobody had to awkwardly hint. He was very good with our schedule and was pretty swift when we wanted a deposit.

Now prior to all of this, I had of course been tracking my ovulation. I used Premom and easy@home strips. I have PCOS but have very regular periods so haven’t had any irregular patterns tracking my LH levels. My peak was actually reached in the hotel room (I assumed it was the day before until I saw a huge surge) and luckily we were where we were meant to be. On our first day he went into his room (opposite ours) to make his deposit. During this, I went straight onto porn and tried to get myself as turned on as possible. My partner was with me but we had both made a choice that it didn’t feel sexy for either of us as the process was clinical, so we would treat it clinically. My orgasm was achieved simply to help my cervix and uterus contract and not because I found anything about the process sexy. Donor knocked when he was ready and my partner took the cup from the door and immediately placed somewhere warm. We waited for it to liquidise for 10 minutes. My partner then transferred the liquid gold to a needless syringe whilst I tried to get myself to reach the big O. Once I felt close I told him and as I was orgasming he was pushing the syringe into me. We did this across 3 days. I kept my hips elevated with pillows and eventually put my legs up. Syringe was kept in for 2-3 minutes and then pulled out.

I am currently 6 days post ovulation and again as someone with PCOS I’m actually not expecting a super quick and overly easy journey. But what I will try to do is not lose myself during the two week waits. I believe if I let it consume me, I’ll live there. I have created a bucket list of things to do each month if I am not successful, things that I couldn’t do if I was pregnant. Including theme parks, spas and a cheeky jet ski experience. And honestly I’m really looking forward to them as well! During the hotel deposits - all 3 of us played PS5 games, went on nature walks, and had what I can only describe as the most silliest sleepover ever. I’ll always remember that my first try was fun, silly, stress free and full of kindness and patience. I wanted to share this incase anyone needed it. I’ll keep you updated on my journey.

Current mood/potential symptoms: bloating, gas, fatigue. I am also eating more vegetables though so the first two could just be that 🤪
