First time finishing a character asset, so it took a little while but I think it was worth it. Had a lot of fun making it
I'd love to know how I can improve on it.

Making my first custom Skyrim creature - looking for advice
Hi everyone!
About two weeks ago I started working on my first creature asset, and I've finally reached the texturing stage (although I'll probably come back later to add some extra detail). I want to turn it into a Skyrim mod, but I'm completely new to creature modding and the Creation Engine, so I was hoping to get some advice from people with more experience.
I have a few questions:
1. Bone count
My current armature has around 200 bones. I know that's quite a bit more than vanilla creatures, so I'm wondering if that's pushing the limits of the engine or if it's still considered reasonable.
2. Animations
I've created my own rig and animations in Blender. I can't really reuse Skyrim's dragon skeleton or animations because my creature's proportions are quite different.
What's the typical workflow for getting custom Blender animations into Skyrim? Are there any modern tools or tutorials you'd recommend?
3. AI / Creation Kit
I'm not very familiar with the Creation Engine. How does creature AI actually work? Is it mostly configured through the Creation Kit, or is scripting required for a custom creature?
4. Implementation ideas
I'm also undecided on how to introduce these creatures into the game.
Lore-wise, I think Jills fit the aesthetic of quadrupedal dragons surprisingly well, but I'm not sure how to implement them in a way that feels natural.
Some ideas I've considered are:
I'd love to hear which approach you think would fit Skyrim best, or if you have any better ideas.
If anyone has experience making custom creatures for Skyrim and is willing to point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Hi there, I was making a dragon asset in blender and thought it would be a fun exercise to give it some animation and release it as a creature mod.
I want to know what polycount can be considered optimised for a dragon asset? gpt told me that the base game alduin uses 15k polygons, I checked 4thunknown dragons and I think they on average used 30k polygons. what polycount should I consider as an optimisation goal?
Idk why they even did that. All the models and textures were hand made by me. No external content :(
I've been recently making this ruby themed weapon pack, consisting of nine weapons till now (I've added a scythe, staff, and a curved sword) I'm still not sure how to texture them.
I want to go for a ruby blade along with a metallic hilt.

I'm really struggling with painting ruby, the second pic is my current attempt.
Hi, i just finished the meshes for my first armor not. The only thing left is to print it, but the substance painter is quite expensive. I tried quixel mixer, but its free resources were very limited, and using the online library required subscription. Armor paint is also subscription based ig? Do you guys know any alternatives or solutions??
Looking for for armour assets that I can freely use without needing the permission. I want to merge and edit them and use them to make new stuff. (I don't think that I need to mention it but I'll credit them on the most page)
basically what the title says. Its size can't be edited either. I'm literally locked out of making any a new reference alias. The "ok" botton is out of the screen.
Hi there, I wanted to know whether it’s possible to use the RaceMenu mod to integrate a Classes tab directly into the character creation menu.
My idea is to add a tab where players can choose a class, which would then grant starting bonuses such as skills, perks, spells, or starting gear.
I know there are already many class mods available, but most of them use separate menus or MCM setups. I specifically want the class selection to happen inside RaceMenu itself, as part of character creation.
I said it. All the hair packs that I find on nexus are all just female only. Like come on, don't you guys want your characters to look fabulous? Where are my ponytail enjoyers? Where are the sharp cuts? The curlies? What about the wolfcut? I need a hair that extends right to my hips, where are they???
Hi there,
I recently started looking into bioinformatics, and, as you might expect, I ended up with more questions than answers. Since bioinformatics is a pretty vast and comparatively new field, finding clear and comprehensive information as a newbie can be quite difficult. A lot of the opinions online tend to be polarized (very positive or very negative) , and more often than not, not very helpful.
A few days ago, I attended a bioinformatics workshop that answered many of the questions I had. It provided a comprehensive introduction to the field, covering topics such as the different roles, the value of various degrees, job opportunities, job security, and the general workflow within the field.
The host mentioned that she plans to repeat this workshop during the second week of every month, which I think is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to build a basic understanding of the field.
The workshops main audience are Indian students, since she also goes over colleges in India that offer bioinformatics programs. However, even if you’re not from India, or don’t plan to pursue your education there, it’s still a valuable chance to familiarize yourself with the field and ask questions directly.
If you’re interested, the host is u/MeganJandoff, and you can contact her for more information on the wprkshop.
Hi there, I've just started my 12th grade, and next year I have to choose my degree and college. A while ago, I was advised by a friend to look into biotech fields. Prior to that, I was heading towards the medical field. Anyways, I started looking into different biotech branches and found bioinformatics. From what I understand, it's a field that utilizes technology in order to provide more accurate and stronger analysis of biological products. I really like the sound of this field, but I have some concerns.
Firstly, how are the job opportunities and security in this sector? I don't want to study for ten years and then end up jobless. Secondly, what is the job market like at different levels? If I'm starting something like this, I'll probably go at least till a PhD. It'll take time, I know, but I also know that it won't be very comfortable anywhere below that. But still, I have to survive, you know. I'm a little low on cash, so I would be very happy to know if getting a scholarship in this sector is more manageable. I'm not expecting a comfortable middle-class life, but if it's possible to get through it with student jobs and scholarships, then that's fine.
Now to my main questions: How can I get myself familiarized with everything? I still have a year ahead of me, so I want to gain some experience, maybe do a simple project, and build some credibility. I already know a little Python (not at a developer level), I'm somewhat comfortable with Git, and I have an undergraduate-level knowledge of genetics, so not very much. But I do have the willingness to start learning. The problem is, most roadmaps are very vague. They ask you to master a thousand things before touching anything. That would be okay if you had already made up your mind, but I'm still exploring. So, I would be more than happy to know if you have any resources in mind, or whether you can introduce me to the sector yourself. In short: I want to know what skills I should develop in order to get into this field, and also if you have any side projects that would familiarize me with it.
Thank you very much for spending the time and reading this. I'm not expecting much but I would be very happy if I get the answers that I wanted.
