Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed wear holes developing in the heel lining of both of my leather shoes, always in exactly the same spot (on the inside heel area).

The first pair is a pair of loafers. The fit feels good to me: my feet don’t really move around inside the shoes and there isn’t much extra room. The second pair is a classic derby that I’ve worn fewer than 10 times, yet a small hole has already started to appear in the same area.

I’m wondering what might be causing this and whether it’s considered normal wear. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this usually related to heel slippage, gait/pronation, or something else entirely?

Any advice on how to prevent it from getting worse would be greatly appreciated.
