Monitor problem

This problem went away after 10 minutes but I’m just curious what is this? Why on the edges of stuff is it just a void?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a really frustrating issue with my PC and I can’t figure out what’s causing it.

Randomly while I’m using my computer (sometimes just browsing, sometimes gaming), my CPU usage will suddenly spike. Right after that, my screen goes completely black and I lose display. After about a minute or so, the PC either restarts itself or I have to force restart it. In the Windows event viewer it shows the image

This is what it shows in the windows event viewer

Here’s what I’ve noticed so far:

  • Happens randomly, not tied to a specific game or program
  • CPU usage spikes before the crash
  • Screen goes black (no signal)
  • PC sometimes restarts on its own after a short time
  • No obvious overheating signs that I can tell
  • My fans become a jet engine

What I’ve already tried:

  • Checked temperatures (seem normal)
  • Updated GPU drivers
  • Ran antivirus scans
  • Checked for Windows updates

Specs (if it helps):

  • CPU: ryzen 5 5600
  • GPU: RTX 3070
  • RAM: 8x2 3200
  • PSU: 500W thermal take
  • Storage: 1x1TB samsung 1x 500 gb

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? I’m trying to figure out if this is a hardware issue (like PSU/GPU) or something software-related.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I just started to encounter this issue where my monitors will turn black and after a few seconds it will turn back on but everything is duplicated and a couple pixels off
