Best Black Sisters Fics

Hi! I recently have been OBSESSED with learning a better backstory to the Black sisters. I’d love an excellent Bella + Narcissa relationship, though I know that’s rare, and would prefer the canon set up of Lucissa though I don’t care what happens romantically to Andromeda and Bella (would adore a Sevatrix set-up)

Thanks!!

Hermione but she’s on Voldemort’s side

I really love fics where she’s got a cool relationship with Tom. like he recruits her. and she agrees because theres some valid reason.

it wouldn’t hurt if it was a Hermione Is A Slytherin AU.

Maybe she’s a trained assassin for Voldemort, I dunno, but she’s a death eater and Voldy is charming and maybe a bit scary.

BAMF Hermione is a requirement.

Mild Dead Doves - Firstie Dead Dove Reader

Okay, so I’m finally testing the waters with dead dove fics despite myself swearing them off because I read this one-shot called Vivere Est Mori and am ready to try to commit myself to a dead dove. The only ever dead dove I’ve read is Indemnity, but it was a really long time ago and I forgot some of it and I think I also got a bit scared if I’m being honest.

So to get to the point, what are some of the milder dead doves out there that is good for an ickle firstie like me?

I tried The Auction and gave up after four chapters because I need a competent Hermione, so competent Hermione is one of the requirements for the dead dove. Competent = not helpless.

And HEA is the other. If I’m going to be crying, I’m going to be crying with a happy ending.

Moreover, I don’t know if I’m ready for a Draco who physically and mentally abuses Hermione the whole time. Yes, I know dead doves (or some of them) have an element of abuse/torture from either side, but can we make sure it doesn’t end like that?

Thanks so much!!!

edit: it doesn’t have to be a one-shot, it can be longer too :)

The Public Pedestal: Which Character Is More Likely To Start An Argument Because They’re Bored

Hello! Welcome to the Public Pedestal where literally we will be putting people on a pedestal for judgement, so whether you’re a reader, writer, or you just bring vibes like Theo; if you like to judge characters while you sip coffee, you’ll love this!

This week, the jury (you 🫵) will be deciding which character in Dramione fics are most likely to start an argument because they’re bored? All characters are on the table, from Hermione and Draco to Luna to Dumbledore.

So which character in the Dramione fandom and famously featured in Dramione fics have famously been known to start arguments because they’re bored or who would be most likely to??

P.S. I started this within my group chat of friends and now am applying to to this subreddit because everyone likes judging people and thought it would be a fun exercise for readers and a great tool for writers to learn new opinions on different cool characterisations!

Dumbledore Headcanon In Dramione Fanfics

I’ve read a lot of fanfics in which Dumbledore is a villain in most Dramione scenarios. Most of the time the Malfoys (if it’s a Good Lucius/Narcissa, which are, obviously some of the best fics), have beef with the Weasleys and Dumbledore too.

Dumbledore is portrayed as very wise in the books, yet Micheal Gambon’s portrayal of him in the movies inadvertendly created this sense that Dumbledore was rash and irresponsible.

For starters:

  1. Why would you hide the Philospher’s Stone at HOGWARTS of all places? Where CHILDREN are? Hide it somewhere so that children DON’T get hurt if someone attempts to steal it.
  2. He repeatedly used Harry. He used him as bait, he made an example out of him, he conducted experiments. Dumbledore really played with Harry’s mind unecessarily.
  3. Leaving Harry to fend for himself with the Dursley’s. Yes, the protection required it, but the movies don’t portray the amount of abuse Harry went through the same way as the books. The Dursley’s would lock him up and not give him food for days. DAYS, my friends.
  4. My biggest one is—why not offer help to Draco when he knew Draco was struggling. Why wait? Why wait until it was life or death for Dumbledore to offer Draco help?

With these points in mind, my headcanon was that Dumbledore just hated Slytherin’s in general, used Harry to pick multiple fights with Voldemort, and was a deeply irrational, reckless, and absolutely two-faced villain. I know he’s vital to the plot and without him, Harry’s life and Voldemort’s defeat would’ve been very different, but I just can’t stand the dude.

So for scientific purposes, I encourage everyone to provide me with their headcanon on Dumbledore.

What Would Draco's Search History Look Like?

I don't think this is flared right, but I didn't know what to put.

I'm writing a fic and I need an incredibly believable search history with maybe 100+ searches.

It can be something stupid, it can be something funny, it can be something muggle related, idc.

So essentially,
what do you think Draco's search history would look like?

here's my contribution:

"Can owls be subpoenaed?"

"How long does hair bleach last genetically?"

"Can you sue a hippogriff?"

"Signs your coworker hates you but keeps correcting your grammar."

The Lady of House Malfoy - A Lucissa Fanfic

The Lady of House Malfoy on AO3

The Most Ancient and Noble House of Black has a curse: loveless marriages are doomed. It is an old myth no one truly believes—until Bellatrix Lestrange’s marriage begins its spectacular collapse, dragging the Black name down with it.

To preserve their standing, the Blacks turn to their youngest daughter.

Narcissa Black has no desire to become another pureblood wife traded like property between old families. But duty leaves little room for refusal, and soon her parents arrange a courtship with Lucius Malfoy: the cold, politically feared heir to the House of Malfoy.

Lucius finds Narcissa too sheltered, too young, and far too delicate for the demands of his world.

The House of Malfoy disagrees.

It has been over a century since the Manor welcomed anyone so completely. Doors open for her. The wards bend toward her. Ancient magic stirs in her presence—and every time Lucius attempts to force tradition upon her, the Manor itself turns against him.

The House of Malfoy has chosen its Lady.

Lucius Malfoy, unfortunately, may not survive the experience.

Welcoming: The Lady of House Malfoy.

By Order of the Ministry: A Union [42k words, 9 chapters, and too much emotional devastation for a lifetime]

By Order of the Ministry: A Union on AO3

Seven years after the Battle of Hogwarts, two war heroes stand on the brink of magical Britain’s highest office: Harry Potter, beloved Head of the DMLE, and Hermione Granger, the Ministry’s youngest Undersecretary for Magical Reform.

But as Hermione’s popularity grows — along with her increasingly radical reform agenda — the Ministry quietly moves to contain her.

Under the guise of postwar reconciliation, the Wizengamot passes a Marriage Reconciliation Act pairing pureblood heirs with prominent Muggleborns in an effort to “restore unity” across magical Britain.

Hermione Granger is matched with Draco Malfoy.

The political calculation is simple: alienate Hermione from progressive voters, scandalize conservative society, and hand the path to the Minister’s office to Harry Potter.

Instead, the Ministry accidentally creates the most dangerous political alliance Britain has seen in generations.

Welcome to By Order of the Ministry: A Union

PSA: Competence is NOT Competency Porn

To settle the score:

  • filing paperwork correctly
  • rolling up his sleeves
  • cooking dinner
  • and speaking in complete sentences

is undeniably attractive

However...

Competent Adult Draco ≠ (yes I had to go into google and search unequal sign and copy and paste it here) Competency Porn.

Competency Porn begins when Hermione watches him alphabetize tax documents and has to leave the room due to unforeseen circumstances. There is a difference.

It's him fixing the wards, balancing the household budget, assembling furniture without swearing once, and somehow knowing exactly which form needs to be filed in triplicate.

It's Hermione watching him calmly solve a problem that has plagued her for three chapters and suddenly realizing she's developed a completely new appreciation for administrative efficiency.

There is a difference.

The floor is open.

Where, exactly, does Competent Adult Draco end and Competency Porn begin?

Hello!!! I've put this off so many times like "oh yeah no I'm fine I don't need a beta" no i do and I'd appreciate as many people's help as possible. I'm currently writing a few of my first Dramione fics and have an ongoing WIP where I publish a chapter weekly (I've also pre-written a few chapters) and am DESPERATELY losing my mind trying to edit these properly.

If you guys don't mind dropping an instagram handle/email/preferred method of communications or dm-ing me on instagram @ earienmalfoy13 I'd appreciate it!

Book Collecting Epistolary Fics

Ok, I don't know if this exists or if anyone even knows what book I'm talking about, but I recently read this epistolary book (not fanfiction) that was called 84, Charing Cross Rd. Which basically was about an american writer wanting a bunch of out-of-print books and having these brits sourcing it for her.

Essentially, Hermione/Draco should either be writer or a book collector or a book seller and one of them should sell books to the other via letters until they fall in love :)

IK this is super weird, I just wanna know if this exists and if it doesn't, I will be writing it :)

Who Else is Committed to the Hermione is Emma Watson bit?

I know this might spark some controversy—so this isn't your cuppa, that's alright! But, personally, I struggle to imagine Hermione as anyone but Emma Watson! To me, Emma is the perfect Hermione, despite the hate she gets.

I think, for me, I can give every character a fancast but Hermione.

Does anyone else feel that way or am i just crazy???

But like the blonde hair feels like something Narcissa did before the skunk head hairstyle. This is so Narcissa coded.

Update Schedules: What should they be??? Writers and readers opinions welcome.

I got a comment the other day on my WIP that said that I don't update my fics often enough and geniunely wondered whether this was true. I've been scrolling through this subreddit trying to find fics to take my mind off of it, but it keeps irking me and causing a lot of guilt so I'm asking even tho I'm not mentioning who it was, I'm not interested in initiating a witch hunt. But with this being said—writers, how often do you update your fics and readers how often do you like your fics being updated??

I have 3 WIPs, one WIP being a short fic that's half-written (9 chapters) and two long-term ones, and I just started the short-fic to help me take a break from the long term ones. I update every saturday/sunday and is that really not enough? I barely follow WIPs, I'm still devouring some of the classics and completed fics and I have a growing tbr of epubs in Apple Books, so I actually have no idea what it's like!!!

LF a fic with a time loop that only draco and hermione are in, eighth year i think?

I read a fic once where Draco and Hermione are in eighth year and I think one of them has been living in a time loop of the exact same day over and over again, I think it's Draco but I might be wrong, and then Hermione gets into the time loop and realizes she's living the same day over and over again and they work together to fix it.

Please tell me this wasn't a fever dream!

LF Greek-God Inspired Dramione Fics

Hi!!!! So, quick story, the other day it was raining really bad where I lived so I looked up at the sky and yelled "ZEUS I'LL HAVE YOUR KIDS IF YOU SHUT UP" and the rain actually stopoed 5 minutes later and so I'm panicking but then anyway I decided to look EVERYWHERE for Greek-God Inspired Fics but I keep getting fics where they actually ARE greek gods. tbc i do not want greek gods to be the characters, I want there to be parallels, and maybe a halloween party where Draco dresses up as Hades and Hermione dresses up as Persephone.

edit: preferably long-ish 5+ chapters

777 - Your Invitation To Explore A Chaotic Dramione Rom-Com With Enemies To Lovers

“You seem very interested in my bollocks.” Draco took another bite of apple. “Perhaps, you’d like a look?”

Draco sniggered as Hermione hit him on the shoulder. “I will kill you and I will have a smile on my face as I do it.” She threatened, her voice dipping.

“Ah, Granger…” Draco tutted. “Resorting to violence already?”

And just for good measure, he added: “The Golden Girl isn’t so Golden after all, is she?”

Granger kept silent as a knife sliced into a tomato rather violently.

“Or does molten golden leak out of your cunt?” Draco asked, baiting Granger.

Boy, how he loved getting a rise out of Granger.

It wasn't the anger.
At least, not entirely.

777 on AO3

Seven days. Seven dates. Seven Step Plan To Seduce Hermione Granger.

OR:

In which Draco attempts to use political influence on a half-kneazle, Pansy is deeply tired of managing everyone's love lives, and Theo’s Masterplan is mostly just an excuse to make Draco miserable.

Give Me the fluffiest fic you've ever read w/ pansy parkinson involved

I just read Breath Mints / Battle Scars and promptly had a breakdown and I need a fluffy fic to dig me out of this. I've read most of the classic fluffy ones, and I'm looking for those lesser known fics. Post-war, lots of funny banter, pansy parkinson preferably included or someone from slytherin gang™ Lucius Malfoy cameo is optional but greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!!
