I got to get this off my chest: I honestly can’t stand people online complaining about every single change Disney makes to their parks, even if it’s a good one

When the announcement that they were going to fix the yeti came out I expected so much excitement for it yet the comments were still negative with people saying stuff like “watch them put a projected face on it” “oh they’re doing this NOW?!” “And still no timeline for it” like Jesus Christ, can these people just be happy for one second. They announce a spaceship earth revamp is finally happening since it was put on hold in 2020 and people are upset about it for some reason despite Epcot being about the future and therefore always changing its vision of it but nope! Still complaints

It’s just feels like to a point people are allergic to praising Disney because yes it’s done a lot of bad things, but are we seriously going to pitch a fit every-time a new thing is announced as if Walt didn’t famously say that the parks would continue to evolve

To summarize it quick: I just want to see some positivity man…

Hot take: Hollywood Studios is better than it originally was and the whole movie studio theme park idea got old quick

Let me start off by saying this, I LOVE the Great Movie Ride. It’s a top 5 attraction for me and I’ll always miss it but taking that, Indiana Jones, Osbourne Lights (although technically it does t have to do with movie making, it just stopped happening bc they closed the area it was in which happens to be part of the backlot area) and maybe Lights Motors Action, do you really think that the attractions based off of movie making were better than everything that’s come since? I really disagree with the notion Hollywood Studios is a mess now. I more see it now as a place where you step inside your favorite movies which sets up the immersive lands which are all behind MMRR while everything before are the real world. This park was made to ride the coattails of Universal and its early days SHOW. My point is, I would take modern HS over old HS and I’m tired of people acting like they’d rather have the old one.

AITAH for calling my mom cheap for not letting me use air conditioning on a hot night?

So I’m a 18M who lives in Massachusetts which can get bad during the summers. We had particularly hot weather tonight and I wanted to turn on my AC unit in my room to cool off. My mom who does the often, protested this and wouldn’t allow me to do it. We don’t have any fans in the house (outside of window mounted fans but the AC took up my rooms only window that works with it) and letting in cool air doesn’t do anything despite her claims it’s “cool out” when it’s actually 70 degrees out. I unashamedly called her cheap for not even letting me cool my room down before turning it off. Now I understand there’s a cost to these things which is why she does it but I seriously doubt 10 minutes of AC is gonna bankrupt my family. I just don’t see the point in having AC if I’m not allowed to use it!

What are some characters not listed on the app I can meet?

I was wondering this because I wanted to meet characters like Curious George (who was there last time I went) and Betty Boop (who I know appears in Orlando). I know the app has a good amount of info on the characters but sometimes surprises happen so if anyone has any info, lemme know.

I feel embarrassed to be the only actor in my graduating class to have never gotten a lead, especially because I wanna act as a career

PRE POST NOTE: yes, I have posted multiple times today and I’m sorry for being a bother, I just have a lot of things I have to get off my chest/advice I need and this community is so great with that

I’ve been really depressed lately because my school posted our the cast for our final musical and I have gotten cast as a bit part, as per the norm for me which I’ll live with but it’s made me feel embarrassed because as stated above, I’m now the only actor in my grade to have never gotten a lead in a musical outside of this one quiet kid who just isn’t loud enough (super nice kid though). I probably wouldn’t be under most circumstances but in this case, I’ve had so many people say that I’m really talented and funny and that I’ll totally get a lead, only for that to not happen and make me feel like I let them down and come off untalented. Especially because I’ve seen Freshman and first timers get big parts before me.

I just don’t understand what it is I’m doing wrong. I’m in the exclusive advanced theater class, won an outstanding growth award this year, and was told I showed major improvement with my singing yet it doesn’t reflect in my roles.

I could really use some motivation right now because I’m starting to doubt myself, which I really don’t want to

Directors, if two students who got the role the other wanted came to you asking to swap, would that be possible (if they were both suited for each others role)

So me and one of my best friends are in a production of Frozen, it’s my senior show and her junior show. I really wanted the role of Olaf and thought I had a real chance as I’m known for playing comic relief, just not in lead roles and I had been at it for all 4 years, acting in all plays and musicals. I ended up getting the role of Oaken while she got Olaf, which she didn’t even want that much as she really wanted me get it (she also thinks she had a bad callback for Olaf but I can’t weigh in on that since I didn’t see it)

We’re planning on approaching our director on Monday and presenting our case for a role swap. We’re basically going to say that we think the other was more suited for the role throughout auditions and how we were interested. Well of course say that we understand if it’s possible.

What I wanted to ask however was if this is possible so I wanted to hear from other directors on if you would do this. It’s important to note that both of us are big comedic actors and I would like to think that we would still both be suited for each others role.

Also if you have any other things we could say to make our case stronger, let us know!

I’m tired of being passed up for big roles because I’m needed for smaller yet larger-than-life roles

I’ve been consistently doing musicals and plays with the same group for a good while now but I have yet to truly secure a major role in most of the shows. The reason is simple and clear, I’m considered the funny guy who does all the wacky voices and big movements for characters and as a result, I’m always cast in ensemble in addition to 1-3 characters who ham it up for one scene than dip out. Now on one hand, I do feel honored that I’m seen as a reliable comedic actor and makes me feel like an important part but on the other hand, sometimes I just want a chance to be a lead like most actors do. Even if there’s a comedic character with a big part in the show, I’ll still get shut out because there was some other character that was even more comedic that I guess only I can play to full effect. Even that seems kind of unbelievable to me; the fact that there’s no other actor who can do what I do and effectively at that.

If anyone has some advice or similar experiences, I’d love to know how you deal with it and I hope I wasn’t too whiny. I’m happy I get to make people laugh so much in any capacity, I just wish I could get a chance to showcase my talents on a larger scale
