A question about 24:26 in the Quran

Salaam everyone,

I came across this verse of the Quran which states:

Vicious women are for vicious men, and vicious men for vicious women. Good women are for good men, and good men for good women. These are absolved of what they say [about them]. For them is forgiveness and a noble provision.

— Quran 24:26

We know that there are bad marriages in the world, and situations where a bad man is with a good woman and a bad woman is with a good man.

So what does this verse really mean?

Thanks in advance:)

is buying a used iphone still indirectly supporting Apple?

i was planning to buy a second hand iphone. however as I was doing research I came across a few people who said that if you are walking around with a product that has a boycotted company's logo on it, your indirectly marketing the product, and someone could even be influenced by you to buy the product, possibly brand new (which means their money could be going to complicit companies)

an iphone has it's logo slap in the middle of it, and even if you have a case on you can still recognize an iphone by it's design.

im worried that even if i buy second hand i'll be indirectly supporting Apple or even leading other people to buy from Apple.

if anyone could help me i'd appreciate it:)

An Interactive Guide about the Tragedy of Karbala and The Events that led up to it!

This Guide by Al-Islam.org is very interesting. It is kind of like ChatGPT except it only uses Al-Islam's sources. It's answers your questions as you go along, and is simple but informative. I found it pretty cool so I thought I'd share it in case it helped anyone else:)

EVERYONE who questions the practices of Juloos should watch this lecture

Especially everyone who read and commented under a recent post about Public Matam, this lecture by Ammar Nakshawani beautifully explains the reasons for Juloos along with common concerns/questions that are raised.

I highly recommend everyone watch this lecture.

How did Karbala save Islam?

Salaam everyone,

I always hear in majalis and lectures that without Karbala and Imam Hussein(AS)'s sacrifice, we wouldn't have Islam today. How so?

My question might just be due to a lack of knowledge on what causes Karbala in the first place, but if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Thank you!

How do you know if something is an adornment or not for women?

Salaam everyone,

I've been doing research into what can be considered an adornment for women, and I am confused. Most scholars say that if something is commonly considered an adornment, then it must be covered in front of non-mehram. But this still doesn't make sense to me. How do you decide if something is commonly seen as an adornment? And things like printed hijabs or bright colors, do these count as adornments?

I hope this made sense, thank you!

how do you feel pretty when you're a practicing hijabi?

hi everyone!

for starters, i love my hijab, and I've been wearing it for a long time. I've never really felt out of place with it until recently.

I try my best not to beautify myself in front of non-mehrams, but I'm going to be honest its really hard, especially when wearing makeup, nails, etc is such a normal thing in my family.

how do you guys feel confident in the hijab? especially in gatherings like weddings or other events where makeup and even taking off your hijab is considered normal 😭

any advice would be appreciated💕

Not Celebrating Eid Al Adha?

Salaam everyone! I hope everyone has had a blessed Eid.

I was talking to my parents about how we as a family don't do much for Eid al Adha compared to Eid ul Fitr, and they had some interesting points. They said that the only Eid that we have to celebrate is Eid ul Fitr, since it is a command from Allah. They also said that since Eid Al Adha is around the time of events like Imam Hussain (AS) leaving Makkah for Karbala and the Martydom of Imam Mohammad Baqir (AS), we Shias don't celebrate it out of respect for the Ahlulbayt. We only do Qurbani because it is a command from Allah, and that is all you need to do. They said that you can even have a Majalis on Eid Al Adha.

Is this true? I've tried doing some research but I haven't found anything. If anyone could provide hadiths as well about Eid Al Adha, that would be helpful.

Thank you!

Salaam everyone! Inshallah everyone is doing well.

My sister is struggling with being modest. I know that everyone has their own path when it comes to the hijab and modesty, but the reason I'm worried for her is that 1. obviously its haram to be immodest, and 2. she gets in trouble with my parents often because of her clothing choices. She likes wearing fitted, short clothes which my dad does not approve of, and recently he got mad at her for it. She says that its not fair that she can't wear the clothes she likes.

I understand her perspective, but I don't know how to explain to her that wearing immodest clothes is not the best. She also isnt the most religious person, so I'm not sure how to guide her to modesty. I dont want to force her to do anything she doesnt want to, but I just want to make sure she's on the right path. And Im worried that this tension between her and my parents might pull her away from Islam.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

▲ 5 r/Lahore

Hello everyone! Im currently living in North America. My family is thinking of moving to Lahore for just one year, then coming back.

Im not amazing at Urdu, but l can get by easily and have conversations. I can't read or write it, though. I've never been to school in Pakistan either, so I'm not familiar with the culture and norms of schools in Lahore.

What are some schools that are good for international kids? Are there any schools in Lahore that dont require Urdu as a subject and are mostly taught in English? Preferably near the Allama Iqbal International Airport area.

Thank you in advance!
