Play along: I named my dogs from Hogans Heroes, what’s their names?
Each one has a different name. ( no cheating!)

I will reveal the names in my next post.

Pluto tv has just added it to their lineup. If you can stand the incessant and annoying ads, enjoy!
The Mormon section of my local library, Eastern Canada. The BoM is 1982 edition.
Quite different from Utah eh?
That would take me about 20 years to complete, averaging 1 project every 2-3 months nonstop. Pretty unrealistic for someone in their senior years, guess I better start paring them down!
I have to say, as I get older, I have more of an appreciation for Sophia’s simplistic wardrobe. While the others wear all sorts of outfits, she generally sticks to print dresses, knit cardigans, print shirts and pull on pants, same shoes, same purse. The occasional veering off into a nun’s outfit or lots of basic Victorian nightgowns and fluffy robes, but she certainly a minimalist!
I thought I’d share with you something that I started doing with my unravelled yarn. I make a test swatch for the most common needles that I use. For the photo, the bottom is 4 mm. The middle is 4.5 mm and the top is 5 mm. It’s not a fail safe and i still have to do a swatch for my project, but it gives me a really good guide to get me started.
I store it with the rest of cakes of yarn and add to notes on Ravelry.
Small town thrift shop, not many sweaters, the only thing I found was this child sized cotton sweater. I have to say it was the easiest sweater I’ve ever frogged and very little waste.
I don’t like variegated yarn so I’ll probably tone it down with some grey but a win is a win!
Had great fun unravelling it! I love frogging! 🐸
Total is 157g or 338m of 100% cotton, probably light fingering weight. Cost:$1.50🇨🇦
Just finished my Cloud Top with the frogged yarn from a cotton acrylic top that I couldn’t decide if I should keep or not. Glad I did it, I enjoyed knitting it and I like the end result of a top that I will actually wear!
Happy frogging!
Dorothy from GG or Caroline Channing from 2Broke Girls?
I almost did a spit take when I saw Caroline’s shirt! What are these designers thinking???!!
I’ve never ordered online before but I live in rural Ontario and would like to order some wool. Almost every online shop has you enter your credit card info, go through the whole checkout, and THEN they will give you an estimated cost to ship.
The only one I found that has a flat rate ( yay!) is Fia Fia in Halifax, but they don’t have the yarn I want.
Could those of you who have ordered in Canada before give me an idea of how much shipping cost you to order under 10 skeins? I just want an idea of the cost. I once sent a small poncho to a friend by mail and it cost me $17!
Otherwise I have to wait and somehow get to a LYS in a city, that may be a long time. I’m a bit nervous about ordering online.
Thx for understanding
I live in a rural area and there are no yarn shops here. We have one small thrift store in the town near me but so far this year I’ve only found two sweaters there. We do have a discount clothing store. I was there today and noticed they had some discount cotton sweaters and I thought I’m gonna look for the largest size and just check out the seams.
I found a pretty coral coloured vest and it turns out the seams were good and for $12 I bought this oversized vest. It took a while to figure out how to take it apart, but I eventually did.
I used the weighing method this subreddit taught me and I have 232g or 680m of really soft 100% cotton DK weight yarn for $12.
I think this would only work for summer yarns as all their sweaters are acrylic. But really happy I found this!
Edit to add: I never thought I would buy a new sweater and frog it. I always buy from thrift shops.
I wanted to get myself a nice quilt for today and while i was in line, the woman ahead of me turned and said “ Are you buying your own Mothers Day gift too?” lol we both had a good laugh at that because it was true.
I bought that damn quilt and it’s on my bed and I feel a moment of happiness on a tough day.
Some of us came from dysfunctional families, some of our children are estranged from us, some if us have bonus children provided by others, some of us have furry children, some of us are grieving whatever you associate this day with.
Whatever your circumstances, I hope you do something nice for yourself today and just for today, just for this moment, laugh at whatever challenge you are facing and celebrate YOU.
This is a triangle scarf I made and i just noticed these stitches going contrary? Could someone explain what I did? Is this what is called twisted stitches?
I am frogging it as I don’t have enough yarn to make it the size I wanted.
I think a great way to show solidarity against TSCC and their lawsuit against Mormon Stories is to purposely use it in a hashtag on socials and tell our own story. It can be positive, critical, confessional, happy, sad, it doesn’t matter. It’s using those very words. There’s no way the church would come for all of us, and it’s at least something we can do.
Many of us are still attending for various reasons, so the “story” can also be positive. It can be as simple as one line. The point is solidarity.
My Step by Step Sweater, full of errors but that’s ok with me since I’m a Type B knitter. I never thought I could make a sweater as I have zero confidence. I did the Icelandic bind off just because I liked doing it and I like the look. I love the 3/4 sleeves because it doesn’t feel so binding as a sweater. Florence Miller is a great teacher and I’m grateful for her pattern, I will be attempting her cardigan next.
