Why is stalling not punished more severely?

https://lichess.org/@/Mohsen_shin/all

Why should that asshole get to waste 9 minutes of my life for free? Just because he blundered he thinks he has the right to punish me, and won't even get banned. Why does lichess allow users to waste others time like this with very little consequences? It's so poor.

Are you friendly with your neighbors?

It was kind of bred into to me to have an aversion to being too friendly with my neighbors. I barely even know their names. We literally never see eachother or talk. Many people who I know are also like this, keep their neighbors at arms length. Just now I had to inform my neighbor of some stuff happening in our community, and I am genuinely dreading having to be friendly with him since the ice has now been broken. I have very deliberately been keeping it unbroken, sigh... I dont want to go out to get the mail or chill on my yard and then have to suffer a conversation I have no interest in. I dont want to chill on my couch and hear "oi, buurman!" I kind of see my home as a barrier between me and the rest of the world. I know it's cold and unfriendly.

How about you guys?

Really struggling after I caught a guy with a crowbar in my yard and a truck in front of my gate.

I work for myself, and so I get to choose to stay up all night and sleep until 1pm. Recently a house mate has been gone attending to her mother, and so I guess when I'm passed out all day it seems like the place is completely empty.

Two days ago, for literally no reason, I woke up and hour and a half earlier than usual. Literally the moment I walk into my kitchen I hear noises at my front gate. First I brush it off as it being the wind or mail. But then I heard more noises and the gate actually open. So I get my keys, somehow have the presence of mind to prevent my dog from running out in front of me, and as I unlock my door and stick my head from around the corner I'm staring right at a dude in my yard with a crowbar in his hands, and a truck behind him in front of my gate. He notices me, and at first I assume it's like some kind of maintenance or city related thing, but then of course I realise they just cut my lock and of course the crowbar. He just stares at me, turns around and opens my gate, while his buddy in the truck starts preemptively pulling out of my drive way(and btw realizing theres possibly several of them, even though they were actively retreating, was not fun at all. I have never felt more in danger that when that stupid truck started reversing), then he has the gall to not close my gate properly. When they go out of view I go back into the house to wait for them to leave, then I find a new lock that I have laying around and go secure the gate. And that's the entire event.

Even though nothing particularly bad happened, it's the what ifs that really mess with me. What if I slept late? What if they rushed me? Like isn't it so freaking bizarre that people could theoretically just pull up to my gate one day and decide to murder me? And then pawn my garbage ass black friday tv and hard drive full of unfinished beats for 100 bucks? On that day I could have woken up, having done nothing wrong but choosing to have a strange routine, just to be murdered by a group of people looking for a quick buck. I would have died pointlessly, having achieved very little in life, yet still leaving a gaping hole in the lives of those around me, vacating the small but important function I play in their lives. I wouldn't have gotten to finish any of the projects I am working on. I would have never been able to surmount my struggles.

Instead I got lucky. And now I'm paranoid and I can't sleep. And I still can't finish my beats, which isn't that notable, but I can also no longer win at chess. Every morning I go to sleep hoping they don't come back for me, barely get any sleep, then wake up expecting to find them at my gate, this time more determined to get their hands on my second rate garbage.

How likely are thieves to try again after a failed break in?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Today I woke up earlier in the morning than usual, and hear someone messing with the front gate. I went to check and found a guy with a crowbar in my yard and a bakkie in front of the gate. Clearly planning to rob us of everything. When they saw me the guy just calmly turned around and let himself out while the bakkie started reversing and they left thankfully. So clearly when they were casing us they were only tracking my other family members and had no idea that I'm always home(I work remote).

It's weirdly comforting that they appear to just be opportunistic looters who do not want confrontation, but still the idea of them returning and trying again, maybe this time expecting to find, is pretty unsettling.

Some vinyl rips have this really cool spinny effect that sounds like it's spinning around your head, almost like a leslie speaker. Does anyone know of any effects that attempts to emulate that?

I would like to make myself a bunch of drum loops, but instead of rendering them out I want to save them as templates so I don't have to commit to a mix. The only problem with this is I don't think there's a way to preview, which would make it very bad for workflow and kind of defeat the purpose. Is there a way to save a track template with midi in a way that it can be previewed from media explorer?
