Do you plan restaurants in advance or keep it spontaneous?

For people who travel light and move around a lot: do you usually plan where to eat, or just find something nearby?

I’m asking because in cities like Budapest, the most visible places in the centre are often “traditional food” restaurants, but visibility doesn’t always mean quality.

Curious what works best for you when you don’t want to waste time, but also don’t want to end up in a tourist trap.

Best way to find authentic food in European tourist areas?

I’ve noticed this in Budapest, but I guess it happens in a lot of European cities.

In the main tourist areas, there are always places advertising “traditional local food”. Some are great, but some feel pretty generic once you sit down.

When you travel in Europe, how do you avoid the obvious tourist traps? Do you look for local recommendations, smaller menus, certain areas, recent reviews, or something else?

How do you find non-touristy restaurants in a city you just arrived in?

When you arrive in a new city and don’t know the local food scene yet, how do you usually choose where to eat?

I’m in Budapest, and in the central areas it can be hard to tell which “traditional Hungarian food” places are actually good and which ones are mostly made for tourists.

Do you usually trust Google Maps, Reddit, locals, food blogs, or just walk around and decide in the moment?

Does this happen in your city too?

In Budapest, especially in touristy areas, I feel like more places are opening with the same “traditional local food” concept.

Goulash, lángos, paprika, rustic decor, that kind of thing. Some are fine, but after a while the area starts feeling less unique.

Does your city have the same issue?

Volt olyan, hogy váratlanul nagy szerelemre találtatok egy csúnya szakítás után?

A kérdés a címben.

Withdrawal symptoms after a breakup

Hi everyone,

I’m currently going through a pretty toxic breakup. It’s not fully over yet because, even though they broke up with me, I unfortunately fell into the trap of still being in contact with my ex, sexually as well. They’re clearly taking advantage of the fact that I still love them and are using me.

But every time I make up my mind to cut things off, I get withdrawal symptoms like I’ve never experienced before. When they ignore me and I don’t hear from them for days, I actually get physical symptoms. And the moment I see their name pop up because they’re calling me, I feel such a dopamine rush that it genuinely feels like what someone with an addiction might experience.

Because of this, it’s incredibly hard to get out of this cycle. Will this ever go away?

Situationship with my ex

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend (25M) broke up with me (25F) pretty badly two months ago, but because I still have strong feelings for him, I’ve been stuck in a toxic on-and-off situationship with him ever since.

It’s really destroying me, but I can’t seem to walk away. Every time I’ve had enough, he sweet-talks me back in and takes advantage of the situation. He gets jealous, tries to make me jealous too, and I keep secretly hoping he’ll regret everything even though I know he probably won’t change.

He’s also very disrespectful toward me, and I don’t understand why I let him treat me like this but the thought of never hearing from him again, or seeing him with someone else, makes me feel sick.

Has anyone been through this? How did you manage to get out? I feel so weak when it comes to him.

Thank you!
