hey guys, my cats 7 years old and has fleas. he just developed them, and hes so bit up already. the thing is, i know how to get rid of them i just dont know how to get RID OF THEM. My dads girlfriend has fleas, and she brought them to our house and gave them to my cat. i already talked to my dad, he said no to stopping her from coming over, i talked to her she said she wouldnt flea treat her pets. now my cat and the whole house is infested, and i dunno. is it possible to just manage them? can cats with minor fleas live a happy life? like i just gave him a bath and got him a flea collar then found out hartz was bad for them, so now im just combing him out a lot everyday and rubbing coconut oil on his back.

please help is my cat okay

I am 21, from america, he has a vet and his shots JUST expired two days ago and i havent contacted them because i have literally no spare money, and itll take me a while to save up money to take him to the vet.
Hes a male 7 years old, and my dad noticed a bald spot on his neck two days ago right when his shots expired conveniently. its like completely bald on his neck and its like the size of a quarter. he cant have fleas he was flea treated with meds and combed out for a whole month, and i checked him and i see none. im so scared its ring worm, like so bad. please can anyone let me know what it looks like? im freaking out so much because i cant afford a vet right now and want to ease my mind till i can get him to one. i ran my hand over it and it didnt seem to bother him or cause any discomfort, so im stuck.
