Snap BS

My husband who was the main provider for our family recently lost his job and we applied for SNAP. It's been three months now and ive had to jump through hoops to try to get the $400 a month that i qualified for. The online portal hasn't worked for me and i was told by their tech line that there's nothing they can do- so i don't have a way to communicate/submit docs with them unless i fax & call. I've submitted every document and called 15 times in the last month just to be sure I've done everything to receive the help we need. I've completed the hour long interview, I paid to have documents faxed and I filled out paperwork after paperwork. I called today and was informed I was denied because of a form i didn't submit that they never told me about.

Why do I feel like like they wanted me to get denied? And maybe even purposely lied. I've never experienced this before and i have a deeper empathy and understanding for people in poverty.

Spiritual gifts ?

I went to a church that put lots of emphasis on spiritual gifts. I remember being prayed over by people of the church in a spiritual gifts workshop class and feeling like hot electricity was running through me. I didn't start speaking in tongues but many did. I started having very intense dreams that gave me insight to other peoples lives. I only realized this after sharing dreams with friends and they would be shocked saying "that's crazy because that's exactly what is going on". I often remember that feeling from the workshop and my spiritual dreams and wonder why that happened? How do you guys make sense of this as an ex evangelical ?

I'm always afraid of being manipulated by Christian's but these experiences felt real and genuine.

Best fidget

Hello! I pick at my fingers and now unfortunately my face. I was at work the other day and I got up from my seat and there was skin all over the chair- it's embarrassing. I'm wondering if there's a fidget that i can carry around with me that simulates the same feeling as picking. Something that won't make a mess. Has anyone found anything that works?

Skin barrier damage vs purge

Hello! I have a question for those that are Tret experts! For the past 4 months on 0.25 % tret, I've been wearing a full face of acne and keep telling my husband " it's the purge!" expecting to reap the reward of my sacrifice - the dewy, glass like skin we all desire with the jaw dropping before & after photo ... but that never came.

I've never really had acne but occasionally started getting a bad cystic pimple that wouldn't go away so my doc recommended trying this. I worked my way up to using it every night. My skin went through waves of acne and peeling. But now I'm experiencing THE worst acne I've ever had. Is this still a purge or is this a broken skin barrier? Some clues that make me think it's my skin barrier are that it does burn when i put lotion on, feels tight after washing and im constantly flaky. To preface- this is the most stressful time in my life right now so I'm sure that's not helping my acne.

How do you heal a broken skin barrier (& heart)? Do i keep pushing through and assume it's the purge?

Here's my very simple routine: Vanicream face wash-Hypochlorous acid spray-tretinoin 0.25%. I moisturize during the day

Best colorado town to live?

Hello! My husband and I are looking for a place to call home in colorado for us and our two young kids under 4. We value diversity, being outside, a creative & artistic community, and open mindset where everyone belongs. I'm thinking a smaller mountain town that's within an hour drive of a bigger city.

Without considering cost of living- Do you know of a neighborhood/town that best fits our values?

Edit: thank you all for your comments; i understand how expensive it is to live. This is more of something to work towards for our family

Please help us find a job

My husband was let go from his job as a store manager and I'm trying not to panic but we don't have savings & we have two kids under 4 years old & a mortgage/many many bills. 😭😓

He has a Business degree and leadership experience, and is seeking roles in Customer Success, Business Analytics, Human Resources, People Operations, loan processing and general manager. Looking for salary of $65k or more.

He's been applying for months, but connections seem to be everything right now. Any leads, referrals, or introductions would mean the world to us. I've never offered this before but if any referrals lead to a job, we will Venmo you $500 as a thank you. We are desperate

SM breaking point

My (married) partner has worked at Starbucks for many years now as a store manager.

He started out genuinely enjoying the job- but mostly the people. He loves investing in the partners and connecting with customers. He was always getting amazing feedback and encouragement- he is just someone that really cares and is a hard worker.

I've watch starbucks quickly drain every ounce of joy & life from him. He never gets a day off anymore; missing important events & time with our family of two young kids. It's caused a strain in our marriage because i never see him. I've learned that the SM role is the one who the partners expect to fix all their problems and the DM blames for all the problems- when the reality is that it's the company as a whole who only cares about more profit going into their pockets.

He comes home at least once a week in tears and is getting sick so much from stress & lack of sleep. He has confided in his DM and they do not care. They just reinforce that if he can't be on call at any notice then "this job isn't for him". I honestly have so much bitterness towards Starbucks and we are on the verge of breaking.

For those that got out- how did you do it? Where did you go for another job?

Any relatable experiences from other SMs?

Please go easy on the SMs- you have no idea what type of pressure and emotional abuse/manipulation they are experiencing everyday. ❤️
