Free hugs… Anyone?
Im still working on timing parrying but I couldn’t just deny that second attempt to hug

It’s safe to say the loot was good and the action was even better, but unfortunately the boat didn’t made it.
Beware of shores, flying aquatic babes around the area will try to take you with them
Not even the skies are safe when the Wylder is on site!
Hopefully next time I can get a better angle of this Wylder moment
Story time, question at the very bottom related on the way you finish a contract. Plus a video of a “clean” combat!
So I’ve just found the Byways town as a POI and a town was being attacked by some ghouls so I did what Witcher’s do best.
But when I was just getting started I got a quest update, went and checked it out and turns out this was part of a contract so my first thought was that someone’s seems to be working for free.
Went to the tunnels and found an >!Ekimmara!< waiting to willingly donate the mutagen for a decoction which was a pretty nice reward plus a relic sword with some decent passives.
Turns out that the town villagers ended up paying me a good sum of crowns which made the whole deal even better, but I was still curious on what would happen with the dialogue since I’ve already completed the contract without even starting it.
You’ve got to admit these devs thought in so many things that I am still getting impressed with all the content (I haven’t even left Velen yet!!) around like, there’s so many things going on in here, and for some reason they keep popping up! I mean on the way here I even found a >!Griffn!<!
Turns out that I’ve also got paid by the contractor, what else is there? Wanna throw a hand of Gwent while we are it too?
But question being: is it normal that I will get paid double if I don’t start the contract or was it just for this mission?
Here’s also a video of the fight before the quest, give your thoughts! I like to think I’m finally catching up with the combat system
Different subjects around the expedition experience so far.
Experience and planning ahead:
So it’s been almost a week since I started the expedition and while we’re all aiming for the same objective, it feels like the main point is to get ready for whatever is coming, even if it’s a final mission or just the begging of something else.
After a while I’ve finally settled the first refinery with copper as the main source, currently reviewing which element to go for next.
In the meantime ship hunting it’s the next move it’s either scraping fighters or getting a sentinel ship, full combat focused of course.
Observations:
Things I’ve noticed for this expedition is that seems like every traveler has a secured item, ship or weapon no matter if someone else took it like in the regular mode.
There’s also this feeling that while in the expedition you’re not able to use other people’s craft like refineries or supply collectors, I’ve been visiting some bases and I find hard to believe every single one of them has a power source issue.
One last thing is that I’ve not encountered either law enforcers nor pirates around which is curious.
But I might be wrong.
Hope to see more around this new concept and deserved attention to every asset they have to this moment that would use a cool rework or new features.
But they’ve done amazing so far, it’s been a while since the last time I had to hustle to get things working, which is nice.
Just started the new expedition and they released a bunch of lore but seems like this is just the beginning of something new.
It would be cool though that instead of time you’ll need to travel a certain amount of distance in look for specific components gathered from a bunch of missions that needs the community to stick together to make it, or something like that… I might be way ahead of what’s coming though.
By the way, lightsabers when?
P.S.: Be ware of the sentient trees or something like that, if you farm them, get ready.
I
So my northern realm deck is currently my main since it has a lot of synergies between the healers to revive cards, spies to add more cards, power ups with 3 horns or cards that enhance the others due to be the same or it adds to the ones in the row and last but not least a bunch of special cards like 3 decoys to be able to bait the player to go all in and then just either clear the room with scorch or completely swap the deck formation if possible.
But recently I’ve unlocked the nifgardian deck and the fact that you win if draw makes the game way more aggressive.
Here’s a video of an almost well executed hand, I’m still learning what effects do to who and all that… I’m about to finish velen but I’m still wandering around to buy cards and/or play this wonder.
It’s insane how quick can you level up from start to 6 even pushing 7 by that and a church.
First half night was just the starting point and sleep church with a couple lobster, crabs, abductors and a bunch of wizards. We cleared almost the whole thing and we were already 6. The rest of the night was just looking for crystals or fighting bosses.
Night two we finished the crystals and went straight to the nearest castle and found some dancers, a lighting lion warrior, a couple of hornet warriors and completed the first floor of the tower by the end of night two already 13.
I’ve to say we got lucky to get invaded by the sentient pest so I’m betting that boosted the gains too.
I find the map a bit annoying to travel around but it might be since I haven’t played it as limveld but it’s pretty fun. It would be great that instead of falling to nothing you fell to a mob lower area so the struggle is to actually get out of there, or something.
Just started to play again since the last time and I’ve got to admit that the first time I was a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff this game gives you.
I’m currently in Velen I believe near Novigrad and currently Lvl 12 Witcher. About to finish the baron’s quest-line but instead of just rushing in I’m taking my time now to see where I left and things to do, get to know more about the mechanics and all that so I’ve started working my way around contracts and/or secondary missions. Plus I have to admit the open world exploration is right on point I’m having a fun time wandering around.
Besides all you can share with a new Witcher I’ve got a couple questions:
- how do you guys manage your inventory? I’ve been dismantling and selling depending on requirements at that point but it takes me to the second question
- how do you guys earn coins? To be fair I’m not a big buyer but this game interacts a lot with stores for at least either your set or weapons, but consider your consumables too
- what are some consumables I should be using/relying more often? I’ve come from playing games where the less you use and the faster you are the better, but this might not be the case here. It’s pretty fun how the game allows you to plan ahead on how are you gonna handle specific scenarios and mid-combat still gives you many windows to modify your strategy if needed.
I know consumables are replenished after meditating so that gives me a bit of concern about the base material
At least for the alcoholest or something like that I’m not able to craft them yet.
Also, are skill points trees open to a rebirth/relocate? I think the last time I was building around melee but I’ve been having so much fun with the signs and consumables that I might build it hybrid-like so I’ll have more options
Feel free to give even more information related to this masterpiece I don’t see myself leaving this game anytime soon so yeah.
Thanks ahead!
How do you guys determine if you really need to add EAAs to your diet?
I’ve been reading lately that they are good to improve your intake but at the same time if you’re well fed and take protein shakes and stuff you’re good to go so the EAAs become pretty much a waste of money
I’m new in this world so I would like to know more instead of buying just because once someone recommended it to me.
I’ll keep the research going tho
