Berry, the doggo, needs a home in Mumbai

Berry is a 3-month-old Indie puppy who was found abandoned on a highway and is now looking for a loving forever home.

He’s sweet, playful, and full of affection—exactly the kind of companion who will thrive in a safe, caring environment. Berry deserves a family that will give him the love and stability he missed early on.

Health status:

  • Dewormed
  • Vaccinated

He is currently in Powai, Mumbai.

If you’re unable to adopt, fostering or simply sharing this post can make a huge difference in helping him find the right home.

Street Kings (2008) is a gritty cop thriller that deserves more attention

I revisited Street Kings (2008) recently, and it still holds up as a grimy, fast-moving LAPD corruption thriller. Keanu Reeves works well in the lead, and the supporting cast; Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, and Terry Crews gives the film a lot more weight than I remembered.

What stood out to me most was the film’s energy: it leans hard into paranoia, loyalty, and moral compromise instead of trying to be polished or subtle. It’s not a perfect movie, but I think that rough edge is part of why it works; it feels like a very early-2000s crime drama in the best way.

I also think the movie gets overlooked because it sits in the shadow of bigger cop dramas, even though it has a strong premise and a 109-minute runtime that keeps it moving. For me, it’s one of those films that’s stronger as a tense mood piece than as a twist-heavy mystery.

Would you rank Street Kings as an underrated Keanu movie, or do you think its reputation is about right?

If your RWA is threatening you for feeding strays, here's what the law actually says

Quick PSA, because the RWA WhatsApp groups are full of wrong information right now.

Two Supreme Court orders in 2025 (22 August and 7 November) changed the rules on feeding street dogs. A lot of people read the headlines and assumed feeding got banned. It didn't.

What's actually true:

  • Feeding street dogs is still legal. It's tied to Article 51A(g), the fundamental duty of compassion, and the PCA Act.
  • Your RWA cannot fine you or ban feeding. It has no power to. Under the ABC Rules 2023, setting up a designated feeding spot is the society's job, not yours.
  • What changed is the where. Feeding got pushed to designated spots inside colonies and out of schools, hospitals, railway and bus stations and government premises. Feed at the right spot, clean up, and you're protected.
  • If someone threatens you, that's criminal intimidation under BNS Section 351. Harming the dog is BNS Section 325 plus the PCA Act.

None of this lands fairly on the feeder, because the feeder is doing the job the state signed up for and never finished. Designated feeding zones, sterilisation that actually reaches every lane, a working municipal helpline: these were promised in the ABC framework years ago. Where they exist, the conflict mostly disappears. Where they don’t, an ordinary person with a bag of rotis becomes the system’s stand-in, and then its scapegoat.

That is the same gap that Supreme Court keeps circling, until the law enforces ABC and puts better animal rights, don't let RWA act as their own municipal boards.

He survived a poisoning attempt before his first birthday. Now he greets every stranger paw-first. Comedy is looking for a home in Bangalore or Kolkata

This is Comedy. He got his name from his funny walk, and he's about a year old.

Before he reached us, he was abused and nearly poisoned. The vet didn't expect much. What we got instead is a dog who wags at every stranger and offers his paw before you've even said hello.

The practical stuff:

  • ~1 year old, male, indie
  • Neutered and fully vaccinated
  • Good with other dogs
  • Happiest indoors, calm temperament
  • Currently at Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru; adoption also possible in Kolkata

If you're considering it or know someone who is, WhatsApp 8879936566 or 9686672286. More photos and videos of Comedy on Instagram, dogwith_blog.

Rediscovered on my old Facebook after a long time: a rainy-day moment of kindness between two kids and a street dog. (Don't know the photographer, please tag/comment if you know them)
