New to sailing with options

Looking to buy a dinghy to build skills and eventually buy a large cruiser one day.
The used dinghy options in my area are: Sunfish, Laser, 470, Thistle, Oday day sailer, Lido 14
There are a few others as well but I’ll stop there.
I’m thinking the Laser and Sunfish are too simple for skill building without foresails.
Thistle looks like the best deal but it’s not the most comfortable boat.
What do you guys think?

Where are sails for 470

Anyone have a place to buy reasonably priced sails for a 470? I’m seeing $1400 new for main at North Sails. Anywhere cheaper? Google isn’t being super helpful.
What is a reasonable price for Main and Jib on 470?

I want to replace my dated cedar shake before I sell. Single story ranch house. What would you recommend?
Priorities

  1. Curb appeal
  2. Ease of one person install
  3. Cost

Safe Harbor rule 100% of previous year.

Please correct me if I’m wrong…
With the Safe Harbor rule, as a W2 employee with annual raises, I am set to pay more taxes for 2026 than I did for 2025. That is being deducted from my pay check. So I should be able to sell as much stock as I want and not pay capital gains taxes until April 2027 because I will have paid 100% (making less than $150k) of what my bill was for 2025 through my paycheck withholdings. 😋

Add cash for banking available via CVS

They added a service for adding cash at participating CVS’s. Not all CVS’s. None closer than 25 miles for me but the cities look to have quite a few. Has to be done at the register. No fees. See limits in pic.

Add cash to checking at CVS

Looks like one of my qualms with Banking has been fixed. ATMs would be a lot better but at least there is a way to add cash now.
