BVM-9045Q

This BVM unit is almost identical to the PVM-9045QM, but it doesn’t have speakers, so I connected it to the Sony AMS-3 to give it sound. 🔊📺🔉

BKM-129X Pi Input Card

One of my projects this year was to have a Raspberry Pi built directly onto a BKM-129X input card, creating a clean, all-in-one setup for emulation gaming on a PVM without the need for a separate console. Basically, just a plug and play!

👋Welcome to r/sonypvmaustralia

G’day and welcome! 🇦🇺

This is a new home for anyone in Australia who is into Sony PVMs, BVMs, CRTs and retro gaming - whether you’re a long-time collector, just picked up your first PVM, or still trying to figure out which model to invest in. Join us, share your setup, ask questions, and enjoy being part of the community!

I’m David, the person behind My Retro Game Hub, and I’ve been trying to build an Australian community around Sony PVMs and retro gaming. I also run the Aussie Sony PVM Facebook group, where we’ve got a great little community of people buying, selling, restoring, troubleshooting and simply showing off their monitors.
I wanted to create this subreddit as another place for the Australian community to connect - without everything being buried in Facebook’s algorithm.

🤝 Keep it friendly
We’re all here because we love this weird, wonderful world of CRTs.
So be respectful, help each other out, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

🇦🇺 Austr****alian community
This subreddit is specifically aimed at the Australian PVM/BVM/CRT community, so local availability, Australian pricing, repairs, parts, buying and selling, and finding equipment here are all welcome topics.

My Retro Game Hub is across Instagram, Facebook, Threads and TikTok, where I share retro gaming, CRTs, PVMs, and plenty of other retro-related stuff for fun.

Anyone is welcome to join the Aussie Sony PVM Facebook Group, where I post a lot of content behind the scenes and projects I work on.

Most importantly — this community belongs to everyone who loves these old displays.

Welcome to r/SonyPVMAustralia! 🇦🇺📺🎮
