Childcare has destroyed sleep and our mental health

I'm about to cry - how does anyone do this? I returned to work and 13 month old started daycare (3 days a week), he loves it - has a great time, very sociable and smiley. Except he doesn't nap well - they can get maybe 45 minutes out of him, tops. He normally has a single 2.5 hour sleep at home. So he's overtired, overstimulated, the lot. Waking heaps at night, not even doing his normal naps at home so the cycle goes on and on. He recently became sick and had an entire week off where his sleep got better - but the second he went back, 40 minute nap and I'm sending him to daycare today with only 8 hours' night sleep.

I'm exhausted and a zombie at work. It has been 1.5 months and I can't see an end to this. The nights are seriously as disrupted as the newborn stage, except we have to function at work the next day regardless!

My 14 month old was such a great eater as a baby. And then suddenly, it's like he's turned into Fusspot central. Will not eat anything other than white foods like pasta and bread. Can occasionally get him to eat fruit and avocado and fish - otherwise, he's basically going to die from malnutrition.

Anyone else...?

$5 for a pair of kids thermals at Kmart and I'm wondering if it's too good to be true? I was legit about to buy thermals from the likes of MacPac. These are just base layers for a preschooler to wear to preschool.

Man it has been a ROUGH transition for my 14 month old. It's been 2.5 weeks and his sleep is ruined. He's actually doing well socially - likes being surrounded by other kids and lots of new toys and activities. But I guess it's overstimulation all the same and worse, he doesn't nap - at most, he gets 45 minutes. Of course this then comes out at night - lots of wakes and super early morning waking. He can't even nap properly on non daycare days now, likely due to all the built up cortisol in his body.

When did your little ones adjust? I'm getting desperate - I'm more tired at work now than I was during pregnancy!

My 14 month old started daycare a month ago (3x a week) and while he's settled well, his naps are horrendous. He was taking a 2.5h nap at home, he's lucky to get 1 hour there. We put him down early but night times have still been awful with lots of wakes and he's impossible to comfort - we can't pat /shush him to sleep - the only thing he'll accept is a feed (breastfeed or milk). Then he'll wake super early just before 6am and on and on it goes, backsliding into an awful cycle of overtiredness. He doesn't always recover in the 4 days he has off either, especially as he is always sick.

I need some stories of hope here!
