Please change the flare if inappropriate. This writing was channeled through meditation, without intent. I would empty my mind of incoming thoughts by jotting them down for later review. I became so efficient that I stopped thinking about the thoughts and just let my hand go.

There are many more, but these stand out. These are from 2021/2022. I learned about the Ra recordings in December 2025.

Dashboard Delicacy #2: Dash S'mores

My last post got some traction so I decided to try another experiment. Dashboard s'mores.

I used caramel-filled Ghirardelli squares for chocolate for a lower melt point. I probably didn't need to. Graham crackers were a little soft, though.

Drinks get super hot when left in my car in the summer. So I left a pie instead.

Left a mini pie on my dashboard while at work. Came out of work to a piping hot pie.

AITAH for kicking my friend and his baby out of my house?

My son and I live together in a single family house. I have a friend who I haven't seen in years, but recently reconnected over Instagram. We grew up close, and we're both admittedly troublemakers.

Since hanging, I've gone to university, developed a professional career, bought a home, had a son, etc. I left all social media several years ago, but I was obligated to make a business IG account linked to me.

This old friend connects and we start talking about shared interests and whatnot. Over several months I find out he has a young baby and needs a place for him and his daughter. He's had it rough. Baby's mom is in a shelter on rehab. He's trying to raise a baby on his own.

I agreed he could stay the summer as long as he abides a few rules.

  1. Not a "dry" house, but beers go in cups and no half drunk cans lying around. He's the only one who drinks so I made this rule after I noticed it becoming a problem. Spilled beer stinks.

  2. No inviting people over. My son lives here. No tinder dates coming back to my house. No randos knowing my front door code. (This came after he was flipping through Tinder asking my opinion on girls and nearby bars).

  3. No drugs. Initially "unspoken", but clarified through casual conversation about personal habits.

That was it. Just lay low. Get your shit together. Save money and take care of that baby. Responsible drink, no drugs, and appreciate stranger danger.

Last night I wake to hear voices up and about at 3:20 AM. He had brought someone over despite the above. He said he had no choice, and that she got out of work late and they were just hanging until morning.

My son happened to not be with me that night, but there was no way for them to know that.

I confronted immediately and said I'd think about what to do after work. I didn't even ask them to leave, and left them both at home when I left for work. I thought about it all day. I just don't have the mental energy to worry about whether he's trying to sneak something past me. And I have my kid's safety to consider.

After work I told him he had until Sunday to find new arrangements (when my son returns from camping). He's now stomping around with his baby in the dark making a big deal about leaving in the night, even though he still has days to go.

So there's now a baby outside of my house crying.

Am I the Asshole?

Update: He came back in. He and the baby are back in the guest room. She's falling asleep. I'm watching Star Trek TNG. I have to go to work tomorrow. Not sure what to expect while I'm gone.

Update 2: I'm using a work from home day today. I wouldn't get anything done in the office if I was worried about what was happening here.

Scraping no longer working

Scraping using TMDB stopped working, so I adjusted to the new python. But now TMDB TV Show scraping isn't working, and movie scraping isn't working reliably.

Anyone else? Any fix?

Yes, file names are correct. Yes, years are correct. Yes, folders are accessible. Can navigate to the smb path through Kodi to watch. Yes, file folders are mapped with the correct content type. Been doing this for many years.

Log says "error general unable to lookup host 'NAS'", but 'NAS' is fully navigable, and the file paths are displayed during the scan. All smb versions accepted.

Can't export the log for everyone to view every line. I'm on a firestick and not trying to set up some micro-USB contraption to export the *.log. Sorry if that breaks the rules here. I'm just looking for anyone with the same issue. Don't delete this just because mods don't feel like dealing with it. Just don't look if you haven't experienced the same and overcome it.

Edit: I can also navigate directly to the file and successfully scan to the library.

Edit 2: Resolved by assigning a reserved IP to the host 'NAS' in my router. For some reason the scraper doesn't use Kodi's local DNS info.
