I made a dungeon that fits in your pocket

Download the PDF here (for free!)

A year ago Mythic Bastionland crossed my path, where knights seek myths, honor seers, and protect the realm. This myth-seeking is what grabbed me. The stories unfold dynamically through timeline-based encounter tables, called omens, as players explore the wilderness.

Those omens drive the narrative. MB focuses on the knight’s overland journeys, leaving dungeons and other adventure sites more on the wayside. But what if I wanted both? What if, instead, I take that dynamic encounter style and anchor it to a physical dungeon (like the one above).

I wrote up a blogpost about this idea

I’m very happy with how this project turned out. I’d love to hear from you, what you think about this drop-in encounter-driven pocket-dungeon idea :)

Up the Threaded Tree: my submission to the OPD contest

Get the PDF here (for free)

Farmer Johnson is losing his “special” sheep, rapidly. Even his dog, Spot, disappeared! This strangely woven tree seems to be related, but Johnson dares not investigate it himself.

  • 3 hours of gameplay rescuing sheep from a tree.
  • Discover how spiders without webs use wool as an alternative.
  • Befriend mole rats who just want a warm sweater.

Blogpost on creating a MB hexflower: Tide’s Edge

This is part of a bigger Mythic Bastionland project: Woland, where multiple creators create hexflowers that cumulate into a detailed ream. Today, I’ll describe my own part in this; my thoughts and decisions that shaped this gameable space.

Hope you enjoy the write-up!

I made a one-age dungeon to celebrate the summer solstice!

Download this dungeon on Itch (for free)

Life requires light. Sometimes we forget how important the position of the sun was before the emergence of modern technology. These dungeons help you remember.

Bathe in Eternal Sunshine

Sunlight brightens the sky throughout the night. People go missing at an increased frequency. Crabs and lobsters are contaminating the water. All since that bathhouse opened its doors.

  • 2 hours of gameplay in a bathhouse
  • relaxed environments with a sinister undertone
  • an opportunity to celebrate your birthmonth

I made these Room Cards to spice up your dungeons

Grab the free print file

I set out to write 52 rooms this year (one each week), and make them available through poker-sized cards for anyone who wants to flesh out a dungeon, or construct an entire location of these random rooms.

  • Setting-agnostic; could be dropped into any dungeon or location.
  • Unique ways to interact with every single card!

Current Room Count: 16/52
