[Computer] [1992] Text input game from 1990s

[Computer]

[1992]

I'm trying to identify a computer game I played at school in Australia in the early 1990s (likely around 1991–1994).

What I remember:

- It was a graphical adventure game with a static image for each location.

- You interacted by typing text commands (e.g. GET, CUT), not point-and-click.

- Very early in the game you obtained a machete.

- One of the first puzzles involved cutting through long grass/jungle with the machete to continue.

- I distinctly remember a plateau in the distance at one point, and I think reaching the plateau might have been an objective.

- I also have a vague memory that dinosaurs may have been involved... But that might have also just been me liking dinosaurs at that point lol

- It was played on school computers in Australia.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Hot tip - I used to also play Granny's Garden at that point all the time, so it was that specific era.

New AFL Club Manager simulation game (made by a true AFL fan)

Hi all,

Long time AFL / AFL gaming fan here. I’ve spent the last while building an AFL Club Manager simulation game. It's always been my dream to have a good AFL management sim, and I finally decided I'd make the game I've always dreamed of playing!

It focuses primarily on:

  • List building / managing
  • Drafting / trading
  • In-game tactics
  • Player development
  • Club financing
  • Long-term club strategy

The game is browser based. Works best on laptops & tablets as there's lots of detail.

I thought there might be some people in this community who shares the same passion. I'm really proud of what I've built so far, and would love people to have a crack at it.

I’m not really looking to 'promote' it as much as get feedback from serious AFL fans who understand how clubs actually run - and people who genuinely want a deep AFL management sim to have some fun with.

If anyone gives it a go, I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback or ideas for further improvement. Hoping to make something we can have fun with for years to come!

Cheers
