Jack Barton who played Nick’s Brother in Heartsopper is the current favourite to play the new James Bond…
Apparently the DiscussingFilm admins have been trying to get the DiscussingFish account suspended for ages now, looks like it finally worked
THEORY: Doom’s mask will be damaged during his final confrontation with the Avengers, revealing his face to the shocked Avengers, just before Earth-616 is destroyed. Doom then creates Battleworld from the remnants of the multiverse.
When do you think we will start getting season 2 casting announcements?
When we eventually get Miles Morales in the MCU, I think Peter Parker will retire/take a step back rather than being killed off…
But in the mean time I hope we get plenty of more Peter Parker, it only just feels like he has really become the Spider-Man we all know and love, and would be good to see at least another trilogy with Holland before we get around to Miles.
Kaylee's List: Top 3 discoveries of July 2026
Hi, my name is Kaylee, and I am currently in a position where I can do nothing but stay inside my room all day, so I thought I would use this time to read as much YA as possible, I am currently getting through around 2 books per week, so I thought to help pass the time even more I would share my top 3 discoveries of July 2026.
1 - We're a Bad Idea, Right? (K. L. Walther) - Honestly, an amazing a fun read. The banter between the characters had me smiling the whole time, and their chemistry was incredible and felt so natural. I also loved how it wasn't just cute romance, it also had a lot of heart, and the characters actually felt real. I was rooting for them from the start, and I flew through the book because I just needed to know what happened. Definitely one of those books that leaves you kicking your feet and thinking about it after you finish. Definitely my favourite of this month.
2 - Pyg: A Contemporary Sapphic Novel: Contemporary Sapphic Fiction (Pip Landers-Letts) - Now, one thing about me is that I love to discover hidden gems, especially stuff that is self published. I don't always know what to expect but Pyg completely surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a fun queer romance, but it ended up being so much more. The characters had amazing chemistry, the writing was super engaging, and I loved how the story mixed romance with mystery and deeper emotional moments. I got so invested in the characters that I didn't want to put it down. It's one of those indie books that deserves way more hype because it honestly feels just as polished as a traditionally published novel.
3 - Young World ( Soman Chainan) - This one is super new, but it was probably the most impressive read on the list. It was so hard to put down. I kept telling myself I'd read one more chapter before sleeping, and then suddenly I was halfway through the book. The world was really cool without being confusing, and there was always something happening that kept me hooked. I also ended up getting way more attached to the characters than I expected, so all the big moments actually hit. Chainan seriously knows how to write books that keep you on the edge of your seat, especially with the world building, and this one did not disappoint at all.
Ted Lasso should 100% do a season or movie where he is the manager for the England football team during the World Cup..
Possible leak regarding the leading BBC STUDIOS pitch for DOCTOR WHO
Just thought I would share this, i am part of a movie/tv production forum where we discuss rumours and things we’ve heard working in the industry. There are only like 20 of us and we usually just discuss things like Eastenders and Antique Road Show as a couple of us work on that show, but someone who’s been on the forum a while recently posted this regarding the BBC Studios possible pitch for Doctor Who, and I thought I would share.
“I hear that BBC Studios has already put together a pitch. It’s worth noting that they were made aware of the potential tender several months ago, giving them a bit of a head start.
From what I’ve heard, the main idea is to take the show in a slightly more mature direction without alienating its family audience. The plan would be to start with a self-contained first series, focusing on telling a complete story rather than relying on the show’s past continuity or setting up an uncertain future. The aim is to rebuild the audience gradually from there.
The leading concept, as I understand it, is a detective-style story in which the Doctor is recruited to investigate a series of kidnappings (maybe also murders) spanning across time and space. They’ve even produced concept art for the pitch, depicting the Doctor and the TARDIS in a rain-soaked, neon lit Blade Runner-esque cityscape”
Any rumours on how big of a role Johnny, Sue, and Ben will have in Doomsday?
Posted by a user on Gallifrey Base - "Yes it's real, spotted in the background of something not officially released yet. Don't ask how I got it"
Any rumours or leaks to suggest that Andrew Garfield will return as Spider-Man in Doomsday or Secret Wars? He was my favourite part of No Way Home, so would be kinda bummed if we don't get to see him again.
What modern day animated movies do you think Gen Alpha will obsess over in 10/20 years time?
I was discussing with an older friend recently how when Cars initially came out they didn't really think much of it and just thought it was a super average animated movie, and they were super surprised to see how much nostalgia and love Gen Z seemed to have for it when they reached their 20s. So what modern day animated movies that have perhaps maybe gone under the radar do you think that Gen Alpha may start showing a lot of appreciation for when they reach their 20s?
Plot details for scrapped 2026 Xmas Special revealed in possible leak...

"Okay, so this is what I heard a few weeks ago before any announcement was made. It's come from someone who I have known a while now and trust completely, but obviously just take this the way you wish.
- The BBC and Bad Wolf Productions, in consultation with Russell T Davies, decided in January not to proceed with the proposed Christmas special. An initial early draft script was completed; however, it remained at a very early draft stage and was never developed further.
- While the BBC responded positively to the concept, the decision to put the series out to tender, coupled with Russell T Davies' planned departure from the programme, led the BBC to conclude that producing a standalone Christmas special would not represent a viable financial investment. This was despite the story's potential to provide additional closure for several narrative threads established during the Davies era.
- The story would have centred on the Doctor investigating a distress signal originating from a frozen human colony whilst orbiting a dying star.
- Residents of the village/colony had begun experiencing apparitions of deceased loved ones, with many being mysteriously drawn into the surrounding snowfields.
- The production was designed with a relatively modest visual-effects footprint, with the majority of sequences capable of being filmed on existing studio sound stages - majority of the episode would've only required the village set.
- Would have also been some small cute creatures of some kind that also inhabited the village that would have also required vfx/cgi i believe.
- A central plot element involved the colony's leader refusing to acknowledge the growing crisis or take meaningful action to protect the population. Upon the arrival of the Sixteenth Doctor, it would have been revealed that he had previously encountered a young Rose Tyler. The Doctor's regenerated appearance had effectively been chosen to enable her to play a pivotal role in saving the colony.
- The entity responsible for the disturbances would ultimately have been revealed to have been luring the Doctor to the colony all along, primarily by assuming the form of Susan Foreman, as it saw the Doctor as the ultimate power source. Had spent years searching the universe for her, revealing herself as the boss character.
- The star may have also taken the form of other characters/creatures to scare the Doctor (cybermen, daleks, weeping angels etc)
- It would later emerge that the sentient star itself had been absorbing individuals in a desperate attempt to use them as a power source to preserve the colony/planet (similar to the star from Rings of Akhaten). Ultimately, however, the effort proved futile as both the planet and colony were approaching the end of their existence.
- The narrative would have drawn deliberate parallels between the planet's attempts to sustain itself through others and the Doctor's own tendency to fill the emotional void left by Susan's departure.
- In the climax, the star frees the harvested colony and expresses remorse for its inability to truly save its inhabitants and decides to let them go.
- However with this being the xmas special, the Doctor is able to use their energy to restore the star causing her to once again begin the regeneration process. As a thank you, the star which it turns out created the time hotel, allows the Doctor to save Rogue, and also visit the real Susan where she is able to actually say goodbye to her, and finally fulfil the promise of returning.
- Would have been a line of dialogue where the Doctor speculates that Joy interfered with the regeneration to help save her fellow star.
- The story was intended to serve as a significant moment of emotional resolution, allowing the Doctor to let go the final source of past trauma and move forward into a new chapter, tying into the 60th.
- No actual Daleks, no 14, would've have been a rather self contained festive story to wrap this era up"
