If 3–4 of us move in together, the rent will be super affordable after splitting it. We’ll have plenty of space, no unnecessary restrictions, and a lot more freedom compared to a regular flat.

I’m travelling from Kolkata to Sikkim (via Bagdogra) and returning on the same route. I want to carry my personal hookah setup with me and was wondering if anyone here has done this before or knows the rules.

My questions are:
• Can I carry a hookah on a domestic flight in India?
• Should it go in cabin baggage or checked baggage?
• Are there any restrictions on carrying the hookah base, stem, hose, bowl, etc.?
• What about hookah flavour/tobacco?
• Is charcoal allowed, or is it prohibited?
• Has anyone travelled through Kolkata or Bagdogra Airport with a hookah recently?

From what I’ve found, the hookah itself is generally allowed if properly packed, but charcoal and some flammable items may be restricted or prohibited by airlines and airport security. Airlines also have separate rules for dangerous goods and flammable materials.
I’d appreciate any real-life experiences, tips, or information about the legal rules and the best way to pack it.
