Braveeer Mystery Tails—Are they worth it? (Read description!)

I’m have seen The Magic Crafter on YouTube defend and preach for Braveeer silicone tails being good quality—and I believe her—but I’m wondering if any of yall have ordered a Braveeer tail before. (Especially one of their $875 mystery blind box tails.) Are they good quality? How do they hold up after a couple years? Open fluke or bottom fluke, which is better with those tails? How do you close an open fluke tail if that’s the cheaper option? Which monofin do they use inside of the tail? I’d be a first time silicone tail owner so is there anything else really important that I need to know before saving up for one of these tails? ANY tips and tricks would be appreciated! Thank you all and have a great rest of your night or day, wherever you’re from!

Mermaid Short Film Series in the works (by me)! Read description!

I am in progress of making a short film series about mermaids and mental health set for a fall 2026/spring 2027 release date. (Season one is being filmed this summer.)

This is just TEST FOOTAGE which is why the quality and sound is so bad. I’m filming this series on a camcorder from Amazon that my boyfriend got me for my birthday this year and I didn’t use the additional mic that came with the camcorder because I didn’t think there would be any issues with the sound and that it would sound fine. Turns out, I was wrong, lesson learned about audio quality. I will use the additional mic next time when actually filming for real.

Also I want to disclose that I am NOT naked in these clips! I was wearing a strapless bathing suit top and bathing suit bottoms because my little brother was holding the camcorder for me!

The props in this scene are mermaid scale tights that I sewed scales from Finfolk Productions onto and mermaid gloves designed after Feral Workshop’s mermaid gloves. (I am not taking credit for designing the gloves—that is all Feral Workshop’s original design!) I will however take credit for the tights as I haven’t seen anyone else on tik tok or Instagram or Reddit do that yet.

Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for; the tail. The tail was designed using Fin Fun’s custom tail design template online. You can design your own custom tail using either the diy route where YOU draw the scale patterns and colors and everything, or you can do the template version and plug in colors and decals. I did the template version for convenience and because it was easiest for me.

Anyways, my tik tok for my short film series and mermaiding is @solarplaycinema for those who want to watch the series when it’s out on Tik Tok and YouTube someday! I’m so excited to share more progress updates! If anyone has any questions, please let me know in the comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Wondering if I can switch a vintage 1980s/1990s Barbie head onto a modern Made To Move body! (Read description!)

I have wanted to make a mini-me Barbie for some time and am deciding between a couple dolls I have that I think are perfect for portraying me. I’m wondering if anyone has put a vintage Barbie head (circa 1980s-2000s) onto a MTM body. Were there any challenges removing the doll’s head? Did the vintage head fit on the MTM neck peg? What other issues did you discover while making a custom doll? Please respond with pics and tips of any customs you’ve made that are a hybrid between modern and vintage Barbies! Thank you!

Swam in my custom Fin Fun elite tail for the second time today! (Read caption)

I will post a picture of the actual tail design in the comments if I can figure out how to (this is only my second ever reddit post), so you can better see the colors of the tail! The oasis monofin from Fin Fun makes you go so fast—faster than any monofin I’ve used before!

Barbie Identification! Need help! Read caption please!

I thrifted this Barbie from a thrift store in Marblehead, OH, recently and am looking to see who she is so I can restore her or make her into a Mini Me. I’ve been collecting Barbie dolls since I was little and have always taken great care of my dolls and have always loved to restore them as I’ve gotten older. Her face screening tells me that she’s from either the late 1980s or early 1990s, POSSIBLY the late 1990s too. She’s a Superstar face mold from my understanding. She has a back stamp that says “Mattel 1966” but no neck stamp and I’m wondering why that is. Her hair is also cut severely and choppily in the front and that is NOT from me. I’ve put this in Facebook groups asking for help and some people have said that she looks like “Funtime Barbie” from the 1990s, but her lip color is too dark and she has more makeup than this doll has. Any help identifying her would be much appreciated! This is my first ever reddit post and I’m turning to you guys cause I really need help! Thank you!!!
