Wednesday’s Dorm MOD

When building modular MOCs, I struggle most with roofs. I decided to do things backwards and build a MOC based on a roof set. I have seen a few different variations of this build, but I wanted to make my version a little different. It is fully enclosed with a partially complete interior.

I plan to spend more time on the interior at a later date.

Back from Service - 7920 Overseas Dual Time

I previously posted that my one-year old Overseas dual time did not stay wound overnight. Additionally, the crown did not wind the watch. The boutique sent it back to VC to be serviced.

Surprisingly, I received the watch back from VC in just under a month. VC performed a complete service, but didn’t not identify what was causing the winding issue. The boutique did not have any additional details. The servicing seems to resolved the issue.

For those who sent their watch back under warranty, did you receive any details about what caused the issue, or was your watch simply serviced with no details?

New Polaris Date Strap

I have had the Q906863J Polaris Date for just over a month. The Polaris wasn’t on my radar until visiting an AD that had multiple brands while on vacation. The green dial stands out and is different from other watches in my collection. Although I like the rubber strap, I wanted a dressier strap option, but didn’t want to go with black alligator. I added an Artisan Strap custom strap. The quality is above other alligator straps I ordered from Handdn and Delugs.

See You Again, Soon

I will start by saying the 7920 is my favorite watch. However, after a year and one week of ownership it stopped staying wound. After a full day of wearing it, it would wind down overnight. Lastly, the watch wouldn’t allow me to wind it via the crown. It is off to the service center for six weeks.

Has anyone else had this happen to such a new VC? I had something similar happen to a GP chronograph, but that was after 15 years of wear.

What a Difference a New Strap Makes - Master Collection

My mother-in-law gave me my father-in-law’s Longines after he passed away. I only wore it a few times over the last 18 months. With the addition of the new Delugs strap, I plan have it in my regular rotation. The original strap didn’t do this watch any favors.
