Suggest me a book that warms a lonely soul

I've been feeling really lonely the last couple of years and my soul feels dried up, can you suggest me a book that warms the soul?

I'm craving something that explores the beauty of human connections (and maybe even the ugliness of it if it's well played), love (and not necessarily romantic, actually I'd rather if it's romantic then the romance should be just one facet of the story rather than its focus), about people going through life together, or maybe finding each other. I love when the characters are deeply explored and the story feels like we're taking a walk in life with them. I don't care about the genre as long as it answers these criteria.

I'm picky so if the story isn't realistic, the characters well fleshed and developed, the plot balanced and well paced, the writing smooth and captivating from the first chapter then I will put the book down. This made it very difficult for me to get back to reading when it used to be my favourite pass time.

Any active online book clubs I can join here?

Salam! 👋

I've been through a slump lately and I wanna try joining a book club to try and rekindle my love for reading, my TBR stack is infinite at the moment!! I'm open to almost anything in arabic, english and french, and all genres in both fiction and non fiction as long as the content is well written, engaging and thought provoking.

Ideally, the focus of the book club shouldn't be reading X amount of books in Y amount of time and forcing any set pace of reading, and not even reading the same book collectively (that would be a nice to have rather than an obligation), just a bunch of folks reading stuff they like and sharing their thoughts about them and discussing them occasionally. No stress or pressure or judgement, only chill companionship as we all enjoy our books together in peace.

Best way to get from KLIA1 to city hotel late at night

Hi, I arrive in KL at around 21h and I'm guessing by the time I'll be done with immigration and baggage retrieval it'll be about 23h or midnight. What's the best way to get to my hotel in the city in Bukit Bintang. Best as in safest for a solo female traveller and most comfortable given a mid-range budget, my priority isn't saving every penny but I don't want to break my bank before even getting to the city.

Planning a 12 day trip to Malaysia and I'm staying the entire time in Kuala Lumpur, is it too much for one place?

I am a slow travel lover. I love staying somewhere and exploring and savouring it slowly.

I hate the stress of transportation and trying to figure out what's the best way to get from point A to point B to point C, I hate constantly switching accommodations, and I have a weak physical disposition and sever motion sickness.

So here's my plan, KL will be my base, and I'll spend the first 2 to 3 days slow exploring the city with a focus on street food, restaurants, night markets, local markets...etc and sampling all the different cuisines KL has to offer since it's such a culinary and cultural big melting pot.

The next 3 to 4 days will be hiking easy trails, visiting nature parks and gardens (+ continue exploring restaurants).

The next 4 to 6 days will be half day trip to Baku caves, one day trip to Malaka, Day trip to National Elephant Conservation Centre, Kuala Gandah, Lanchang (still looking for what's the best way to do that). These day trips will be separated with relaxation days where I'll be taking things easy to recover from the toll of a day trip.

The last 1 day is for shopping for souvenirs and packing back home.

I am very tempted to add:

* Penang (but I can't think of anything really special in it that I won't find in KL + Malaka to deserve the stress and fatigue of transportation)

* and/or Kuching (I adore wildlife but the whole thing seems and feels too stressful and tiring but it might be worth it I don't know)

But I decided against it, am I making the right call or will I be just bored and underwhelmed by spending a whole 12 days in KL? Everyone seems to recommend against it, but this plan feels right for me.
