I hope this subreddit allows this post as I am asking about a temple located in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.
I am a foreigner and visited Sree Veera Hanuman Temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur recently.
I visited the temple on a Saturday morning at 7.30am and I was surprised to find the temple very crowded with devotees early in the morning.
I am not sure if the temple was crowded as it was a weekend.
Is Sree Veera Hanuman Temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur crowded most of the days? Is it also crowded on weekdays mornings ( Monday to Friday)?
I hope redditors who visit this temple regularly can share some details.
Thank you.
Can anyone suggest an affordable and reliable blood test clinic which doesn’t charge you an arm and a leg.
Last Klinik Segara in Klang Valley charged me RM 350+ for a normal blood/urine test.
I don’t do apps. I’d prefer to meet in person. What’s the best way as a white guy in his late 20s?
Hi. I'm an International student at UPM. I'm in my 4th semester and got PhD scholarship in EU.
Before leaving the Malaysia, I want to have blood test here (like blood suger). I heard that Caring pharmacy or Watson take some small test and it's cheap. I'm thinking to take a vitamin test as well (like vitamin D). I'm searching around and couldn't find a clinic (for foreigners).
Would you please tell me where should I go? I'm still student here, but I think the PKU (UPM clinic) wouldn't accept these kind of test.
From Oriental KOPI in TRX mall. I don't know how to rate it since it was my first time :)
I visited KL again after 8 years, and one thing I noticed is that I seem to be seeing fewer ethnic Malays in the areas I’ve been visiting (penang, cameron highlands, Kuala lumpur) not just in the malls and on the streets, but also among business owners
I feel like I’m seeing far more Chinese people than I remember from my last visit. Has something changed over the past eight years?
When I travel, I usually try to support local businesses, but its hard to do that here because everywhere I go is owned by the Chinese
hello everyone,
I am an expat looking for apartment/condo recommendation, preferrable linked with or walking distance to Kelana Jaya Line LRT stations and not too far from Bangsar LRT station.
- Budget: up to RM 2,000
- Preferred Unit: Studio / 1 or 2+1
- Furnishing: Fully Furnished
- Others: Preferrable no Airbnb allowed in the property and complete and maintained gym condition
Additionally, I have shortlisted few options I can find (through Google Maps), but unable to find any review or pros and cons of the apartments.
If you are living or have the experience living on the follow condos/apartments:
- Ruby Seapark
- Zenith Residence (SS7)
- Sterling Residence
- Panorama View
- Ara Sentral
Please help me to leave some review on the following:
- is it walking distance to LRT?
- is the walking route safe and shaded?
- how is the traffic to the highway?
- how is the neighborhood? (quiet/crowded/noisy/not much food option/etc)
- is the electricity residential/commercial rate?
- any pest issue?
Thank you very much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice regarding a rental dispute in Malaysia.
I rented a condo in Kuala Lumpur till 30 December 2023. I paid a monthly rent of RM 1,400 and a security deposit of RM 2,100. (1.5 months).
After I moved out, the agent confirmed in writing on 22 January 2024 that, after deducting the electricity bill, I was entitled to a refund of RM 1,894.95. Fair enough !
However, he told me he could only transfer the money to a Malaysian bank account. Since I'm a foreigner and had already left Malaysia, I didn't have one.
Fast forward to today (more than 2 years later), I still haven't received my money. I've tried contacting him multiple times on WhatsApp, but he completely ignores my messages. I recently found that he is still working as a real estate agent and is actively advertising properties online, including the same condo I rented.
I still have:
My questions are:
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hey folks, this is an update to https://www.reddit.com/r/KualaLumpur/s/nzSvH1lxaB where TLDR - the partner of a friend made a disastrous plan and said she doesn't need a Malaysian to tell her what to do.
Here's a bit of a plot twist:
The trip was the first time that I met Y in person because our friend had not introduced her to us before the trip and had kept his relationship private.
On day 1 where she planned to check in at 3pm, head to a cafe Taman Mutiara at 3.20pm, and then to Central Market at 4pm followed by Pavilion at 4.30pm.... well, as many of you guys who followed my previous post expected, it didn't happen.
What happened was we checked in right on time, but Y complained that all the walking up and down the stairs (quote: "Why KL have so many stairs unlike SG where government build lifts?") made her tired and she took a nap. We ended up staying at our accommodation until 6pm before we went to Pavi.
At Pavi she insisted on having Oriental Kopi because she remembered her SGrean friends telling her about how good the outlet was in JB. Honestly, it's meh to me.... but her 2nd choice was Uncle Roger's restaurant so.... oh well.
After the Oriental Kopi dinner we walked across the Shibuya crossing to FamilyMart and Y was like an overexcited child that simply got amazed by everything in FamilyMart (quote: "Why Malaysia 7-Eleven so advanced one SG don't have") and also got amazed by my partner (I'm a JB-ian and my gf is SGrean) using TnG e-wallet and Familymart app like a local lol.
(I'm soooo proud of my gf at her efforts of getting Malaysianised btw...)
On Day 2, my gf and I bailed and went on our own itinerary where we went up to 1U and took LRT3 down to Klang for brekkie at Chong Kok kopitiam, walked around the area and I showed her a few BKT places around the area plus the Hakka Paikut store (its a shame that Nasi Lemak Lido was gone for a very long time, if not she'd love the nasi lemak for sure). Then we took LRT3 up Stadium Shah Alam and Grabbed to Raja Tun Uda library (childhood memories of its 4D cinema), and then we went back to 1U and had our dinner at Dave's before returning to our accommodation.
As for them, Y had originally planned:
12pm: Lunch at a specific fast food place in KLCC
1pm: Grab to Botanical Garden
3pm: Grab to a specific cafe in Seri Kembangan, then to a book store in Jalan Sultan
4pm: Bowling at Berjaya Times Square
6pm: Dinner at a certain place at Berjaya Times Square
7.30pm: Watch light show at KLCC Park
Well it didn't happen.
They left the accommodation fairly late, went to KLCC (where Y complained afterwards, quote: "why KL so many complicated train lines like KTM, MRT, LRT, Monorail not like SG only got SMRT"), then took a Grab to Berjaya Times Square (where she complained afterwards on the different ticket prices for MyKad and foreigners, quote: "Why Malaysia theme park all charge foreigners so expensive to help locals?"), and then returned to accommodation.
As for food, they didn't visit K Fry and ended up eating at KLCC's food court, and then they had Mekdi for dinner (for which Y complained there was no curry sauce and that the ayam goreng was too spicy).
On day 3 she had initially wanted to visit TRX in the morning but ended up terlajak so there wasn't time to visit TRX. We checked out and had our lunch at KL Sentral's KFC. Me and partner wanted to try Krapow at NU Sentral but Y insisted on KFC. We know that we will visit KL again in the near future so we decided that eff it and just let her have her KFC.
During the train ride to JB Sentral she suddenly thought of wanting to eat Meng Meng Roasted Duck at City Square JB. Me and gf decided that its enough and we bailed again -- we alighted at Kulai and Grabbed to my home to stay overnight before we both returned to SG this afternoon.
Hi I am currently going through the second stage of interview for Matsercard Kuala Lumpur office, and it’s for a Product Delivery position. I am wondering what are the green, yellow and red flags of Mastercard? Are they toxic?
I know I’m not chosen yet but I’m just curious, are they toxic? Since I am currently in a toxic environment so don’t wanna jump into crocodile mouth hahaha tq!
Anywhere near Bukit Bintang or even KL sentral preferably. I remember there used to be one water bottle refill shop near the Maharajalela station but idk if its there anymore.
I’m coming to KL from Australia. Where’s a good place to live as an expat? And what’s the best way to make friends here?
Hi all. First and foremost – thanks for being great hosts to so many tourists from all around. Right from airport staff to hotel folks, shopkeepers, cab drivers. Nice mix of culture, landscape, modernity, food, and convenience. This is just the eastern part. The south and west side islands I didn’t even know attract tourists at that scale.
As family of 3, we had nice 11 days in Langkawi, Penang, Johor, and finally Kuala Lumpur. Typical touristic attractions yet very fresh. Flew from Delhi to KL via SG and total 5 domestic flights took us through. After morning arrival-
Day1 – flew lgk, 3N there for skybridge, forest tours, relaxed day
Day4 – flew to PEN, 2N there for culture tours, jetties, hill ride and famous temples, quick ferry ride to and from Butterworth just to explore
Day6,7 – flew to KL for a johor flight but got enough time for batu caves, spent a day in lego!
Day8- 3N in KL for towers and museum, zoo day for famous pandas, quick cable car ride to and from Genting and temple, strolling thru markets, malls, and petalling street for some shopping.
Happy to help anyone planning a trip there.
Hi, I'm visiting KL soon from San Francisco, and I have a friend back home who's a tailor and makes her own clothes. I'm hoping to buy her some good quality fabric that's different from what she could easily get in the US, ideally something unique or specific to Malaysia. What stores should I check out, and is there anything I can look for (key words in the description, or looking at the fabric itself) to make sure it's high quality?

Me and my bf have been dated about a year now and thinking to move in together. Our salaries are in similar numbers but I’m making more moment at this moment.
Our main cost - usual dine-outs, we takes turns paying, anniversary or special days he pays. We’re open about money so if he feels too much, he will ask me to pay.
For vacation, 50/50.
So now we’re living in different apartments and my rent is about 900 RM and his is about 600 RM because he’s live in kajang area, rent is cheaper.
For food/groceries, I dont eat much. Mostly I eat out.
BF he also eat out. We dont cook everyday.
We recently joint bought a car and we’re splitting evenly to pay for it. I will contribute gas money if we actually using together.
I don’t want to do exact 50/50 on everything or calculating every coins we spend and split. So I bring up the matter to him to fully pay for groceries and we will split 50/50 on rent, petrol, etc not including our own dine-out.
After that, he said he will think things through. His past rs, he was fully providing and that was difficult time for him so I want to lessen his loads. I’m wondering if I’m making unreasonable demands or is it too early to move-in together if we cant work this out? Please provide suggestions/ please dont angry at me, my heart is weak.
Here in KL for a few days and would appreciate some recommendations for good Nasi Kerabu. Able to drive and willing to travel. Thank you!
Is anyone interested in doing work? I will pay 142 for a day. It’s a few hours. Must be willing to walk around as it’s part of the job assignment and send proof! Please comment and I will send more info about the job. Thanks :)
