Alternatives to CBD that do NOT act on benzodiazepine-receptors

Hi folks,

the French authorities hate CBD (because of its association with illegal cannabis) and they sucessfully got the European Chemicals Agency to classify it as toxic for human reproduction on the grounds that at very high doses (much higher than those consumed by humans), it can be toxic for animals.

As a consequence, it's only a matter of time before ALL CBD products will be banned in ALL EU countries without exception, nobody will be able to buy CBD in the EU in the future, not even as a research chemical not for human consumption.

This greatly frustrates me as these CBD products were a game-changer for my pain and anxiety.

Now, I'm actively seeking alternatives but I don't want them to act on the benzodiazepine GABA A receptors as this can lead to tolerance and addiction.

Magnolia, bacalain, Ashwagandha, Coriander, Saffron, Apigenin, Isoliquiritigenin, and Gotu Kola are good but they act on benzodiazepine receptors, as shown by the fact that they are blocked by flumazenil.

Matrine is great but it's likely to be banned as it is an opioid with some abuse potential at high doses.

L-theanine doesn't have any effect on my anxiety, lemon balm only has weak effects.

Kava is wonderful but it causes severe itching in my case.

Do you know any alternatives that do not act on benzodiazepine receptors?

Could CBD be totally banned in the EU?

The French authorities hate CBD (because of its association with illegal cannabis) and they sucessfully got the European Chemicals Agency to classify it as toxic for human reproduction on the grounds that at very high doses (much higher than those consumed by humans), it can be toxic for animals.

At the same time, another EU institution, the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), advised a very restrictive safe dose of CBD (2 mg a day) but they also acknowleged that animal studies showing it can harm reproduction rely on doses that are far higher than those normally consumed and that they cannot be used to argue that every use of CBD is a threat.

So, what's gonna happen?

CBD will probably be banned from cosmetics, but will the EU also ban it from e-liquids and smoking materials?

Or will only individual states do this?

In the latter case, it'd still be possible for me living in France to buy it in another country without me facing a jail sentence as this isn't a drug of abuse.

If every human being on planet earth had a basic universal income and is guaranteed to have the best healthcare he or she can get, would the fact that unpaid care work is still mostly done by women be a problem?

To me, this would still matter but much less than in a capitalist system where this unpaid work can plunge a woman into misery and a lot of suffering if her husband turns out to be bad and unreliable and she's to leave him and she's broke because she couldn't build up her career.

I don't think there is any solution to this problem in a system that seeks to maximise the profit of the ultra-rich.

Hi folks, a while ago I talked about the evolution of a friend. He first drank Kratom tea from time to time, then several times a week, then every day and one day, his vendor told him of 7-OH. He told him that it's a very good remedy and that it's not a drug of abuse, that almost all folks who get addicted to it either were addicted to opioids before or had severe mental health issues. My friend believed him and he quickly began to consume 7-OH several times a day. He told me that it feels wonderful and that it can "KILL [HIS] SORROWS IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE" but that he isn't an addict, that he can stop whenever he wants but that there is no need for him to stop as 7-OH helps him to thrive and even to be better at his job. As he got angrier and angrier against me, I decided to no longer talk about this with him.

However, several days ago, I realised he had sold lots of things such as books he liked, his bike he uses from time to time and one of his two TV sets and when I asked him why, he got defensive and he told me that he just doesn't need that stuff anymore.

Do you think he has fallen so deep under the grip of 7-OH that this thing now controls his brain and behaviour?

Why is he so SOUR ON ME whenever I ask him such questions even though he knows I care for his well-being?
