Dream come true

I was in sixth grade when TG came out. I specifically remember watching the opening flight deck scene and thinking to myself “I want to do that!”
Fast forward fourteen years and I was “shooting” Tomcats off of the carrier USS Enterprise in October 2001 during the opening weeks of the war in Afghanistan.

Everything else is just gravy

Mare Leg purpose

Besides the “Cool Factor” what is the practical purpose of a Mare’s Leg lever gun?

Maybe it’s just my training but on normal rifles and handguns that I want to hit the target on the first shot, but it seems like that would be a challenge with one of these. Too gangly to be used as a pistol and you can’t steady it to use as a rifle.

If it fits you for your purpose, you do you, I’m never gonna a judge someone for their weapon of choice, but I’m just trying to figure out why they are popular. Not to insult, just curious.

The US Navy doesn’t have “Kamikaze” Dolphins, but they do have trained dolphins and other sea mammals that help find mines and harbor protection from enemy divers, they are likely being used against IRGC in the Straight of Hormuz.
