does translated AI video actually perform in non-english markets, or does it just look like it does?

can't find a straight answer on this anywhere so asking here.

the pitch is obvious. one script, five languages, no reshoot. and the tech works, lip sync on translated audio is better than I expected. what I can't tell is whether the videos actually do anything in those markets or just exist there.

couple of things I've noticed. the translated audio sounds flat. it's accurate but the delivery is even in a way that's fine for explaining something and weak for selling anything. jokes and idioms just die, so the localized scripts end up more basic than the original.

lip sync also depends a lot on the language. some are perfect, some are visibly off, and it seems to be about how common the language is. so "30 languages" doesn't mean 30 languages that look good.

I've mostly tested on argil and to be fair the big european languages held up fine. the smaller ones were rough, though I think that's true across all these tools, not just one. no idea if heygen or synthesia do better there.

the bit I keep getting stuck on: does a native speaker see it as local, or as a foreign company that ran their video through a machine? those are very different results.

anyone actually running this in non-english markets? is it working or is it just cheaper?

Am I stupid for saying I'm madly in love?

I have been seeing this guy for over 2 years, we enjoyed traveling together a lot, exploring new cities and sex of course.

During one of the trips, I think we just fell in love. But because we couldn't be together, we parted away.

That didn't last for more than 3 months, he reached out to me in May, after discussing for a few days ( in person ), we decided to be with each other despite the reasons why not to be.

But here is the thing, he is more realistic and more into focusing on business and not feelings because love doesn't make money. I have asked him to give me a few months to get over this phase of being all in love and especially when I can tell someone that I'm in love with him but it still feels weird somehow.

I feel so stupid, because I'm 28yo now and never cared about someone this much, and people these days seem not to care about feelings that much.

I am trying to focus on other things and try to talk to him less because I know he is busy and all, but it's freaking me out.

Should I just leave? Or be silent and wait? Or what do I do?

Please choose your words, I already feel like shit and got drunk and don't even know what to mention or not...

I would appreciate advice and a good word now! Thank you very much.

What to add to an ecommerce platform RFP that no one volunteers?

Most RFP templates for ecommerce platforms stop at SLAs and integration requirements, which is exactly what every sales team is most comfortable answering.

So the questions that flush out architecture weaknesses tend to be the ones you only know to ask after a migration that didn't go the way the slide deck promised.

The question that's come up in every eval I've been through is some version of "what does migration off your platform look like if we ever need to switch?" since the answer tells you more about data portability and lock-in than any contractual clause will.

So the ones who've thought about it can walk you through their export specs while the ones who haven't start pointing you to their migration team or partner network.

A follow-up that sharpens it further is how do you handle a brand with multiple storefronts across different markets and currencies?

Since the architectural answer to that separates the suites from the composable ones, and the two composable platforms we were comparing in that eval (SCAYLE and commercetools, both API-first headless) had an entirely different kind of conversation there than the suites did.

What most templates skip entirely is professional services scoping, and by that I mean asking past what's in the license to what a typical implementation for a stack like ours takes in practice and who in the partner network has done one like it, since the gap between their estimate and what the build takes is usually where the total cost surprise comes from.

The ones that answer all 3 cleanly are usually worth a longer conversation than the RFP process allows

Any tips for synthesizing themes across interviews when you're still new?

UX researcher at a healthtech app, only been doing this about a year and just wrapped my first real round of user interviews on a workflow redesign.

And even coding one session is taking me the better part of an afternoon, so with the synthesis deck due friday, I've still got most of them untouched, and I'm basically stuck between rewatching everything in a panic or shipping themes from what i managed to code when the deck needs the full round.

Tried a few tools people have mentioned in other threads (Dovetail, BuildBetter, Condens) but I'm still not sure how much of the heavy lifting these take off, because it still feels like most of the thinking is on me, so it's coming out to more time scrubbing than analyzing.

So i'M wondering if anyone else here is in the same spot, and what's helping you get from raw transcripts to something a PM will read?

Merci d'avance.

Anyone consolidated multiple brands off Magento into one backend?

We're at 4 brands across 4 separate Magento 2 installs and the situation is out of control.

Same products appearing across brands with manual data syncs, no unified view of portfolio performance, and a dev team burning most of their bandwidth on platform maintenance instead of anything customer-facing.

Spent the last couple of months seriously looking at what consolidation means here, and headless on commercetools is architecturally interesting, but the implementation scope got us nervous after talking to a few people who'd been through it.

SAP Commerce Cloud felt like trading one legacy headache for another, Shopify Plus hits a ceiling the moment you need true multi-brand and multi-country at scale, and SCAYLE kept coming up, built specifically for this (Deichmann runs 8 brands from one backend apparently) though the ecosystem is a lot smaller than the main platforms and their NA footprint is pretty thin.

No decision made yet, so if anyone's consolidated from a Magento multi-install before, the org structure side feels just as complicated as the technical layer.

how are you spotting at-risk accounts with AI before the churn call in 2026?

We found out our biggest logo was churning when they booked the offboarding call, and the post-mortem showed 4 months of signals sitting in support tickets we never connected.

We're now trialing ChurnZero's AI scores plus a setup where BuildBetter flags risk language across calls and tickets, and Gainsight quoted us a number that made the decision easy.

So what's catching churn early for you?

Do people see cheating differently?

I'm new to the relationship and I want to get some opinions before I ask my partner.

What forms or acts that you think are cheating on your partner?

Growing up, and through college + work, I hear people say things like " I don't want my partner to talk to others cuz that's cheating " while others relate it to what's physical.

What's your intake?

How bad is it what I did?

I had an abortion and I didn't tell anyone, even the person it happened with!

I was seeing someone, for a few months. This guy criticized me a lot.

We were from different countries but met in a third country, we lived together only for 3 months.

He asked me to be together because he said he liked me a lot, and to be honest I liked him too so I agreed. Then he started to think about why I was seeing him while I could get any man I wanted " what he thought ".

Anyway, he was rejecting me a lot and always found a reason to fight, and that was not my case, I never create conflict nor want to be part of it.

He was completely against abortion, we had unprotected sex at some point but I was taking the pill. And of course that was a mistake because it didn't really work.

He was thinking about ending the relationship a few times, and lied to me about going back and having sex with his ex while I was completely committed to him.

What happened is, I received a letter from an ex one day on my email, I never intended to respond and he was insisting on it. While he said he was confused about why me and that ex broke up while he is rich and good looking. ( Another mistake because he asked me about my past and I told him the truth ).

He thought I was a " slut " because my body count is about 8 or 9 men while I'm 28yo.

When it happened that I got pregnant, we got into a big fight, I went out directly to the gynecologist and then they told me after doing some tests that I was pregnant. But it was going to be a miscarriage due to something they didn't specify at the clinic.

I was planning on telling him, but he started to pull away so I hid it, I went and talked to a doctor, got an appointment for an abortion after 1 week. I did it, and that was it.

2 days later, I went out for a drink, I was feeling lowkey and texted him that I was gonna be a bit late ( like going home around 1am ). But what happened is that he followed me because he had a tracker on me, and we got into another fight and he asked me to pack my stuff and leave. And that's what I did.

Now, I am traveling in southeast Asia, a friend of mine gifted me a place to stay for a month ( she is somewhat rich and she was feeling bad for my situation ).

I am trying to get myself together and leave the past behind. But sometimes that hits and makes me feel low.

That's it! Thank you for reading.

( I didn't mention a lot of things because I tried to keep it a bit short ).

What are my chances of getting Norway short term visa?

My partner and I are planning a trip to Norway, but don't know what's needed from us exactly!

Here is the situation. I am now unemployed and applying for university next month ( 28F ). While my partner is supporting me do that.

While I can't provide my bank statements, he is sponsoring this trip as a gift for both of us.

I hold a Moroccan passport, and my partner holds an American passport ( got it through studying there but he is not Moroccan either ).

I want to know if we have a chance to approve my visa to the Schengen area.

For the record, I have been granted a visa from Germany in 2024, and type D visa by Greece 2025. And have visited 14 countries in total.

If you have anything that would help, I appreciate it! Thank youuuuu.

Has anyone ever fainted because of overwhelming emotions?

I (28F) have been seeing this guy (32M) for almost 3 years.

At first, it was just something casual, but over time we fell in love. Unfortunately, we couldn't actually be together, so we decided to part ways and didn't speak for about 3 months.

He reached out recently and said he couldn't stay away anymore. The truth is, I felt the same. We decided to meet and talk about what our options were.

During that conversation, he kept telling me that he loved me, that he wanted to be with me, and hearing all of that felt so overwhelming that I genuinely felt like my body couldn't process what I was feeling. I suddenly fainted.

Then, it happened again later that same week.

I've never experienced anything like this before. Even now, when I think about that conversation, I feel physically weak.

For context, I've never been in love before or had a serious relationship.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Can intense emotions actually cause someone to faint? If you've been through this, I'd really like to hear your experience.

P.S. I'm generally very healthy, and fainting has never been something that happens to me. I had a full medical checkup after this, including blood tests, and everything came back normal.

How should I feel about being asked to exercise?

So,

I started seeing this guy for a few months now, but something that was brought up for discussion many times is me having to exercise.

For background: I am 28yo, very fit, never more than 50kg in weight, 159cm. I walk a lot, and hike whenever I get the chance to. I come from a family with good genes ( thankfully tbh, I realized how good it is ) to the point that whatever we eat, we have very good metabolism.

This guy, thinks that oh I'm still young and that's why, in 4 or 5 years I'll start gaining weight and it will be a different case.

He eats everything and I respect that of course, it's none of my business that people eat what they want or like.

He goes to gym often, but because he says he needs to go everytime he eats something he shouldn't, like drinking coke everyday, or eat suggary things more often, or a lot of cheese ( his words hehe he does eat those but again, I feel like I have no saying in that ).

And he is not entirely happy with his body.

It feels weird a bit because, I don't eat sugar ( I went sugar free a few years ago, only a natural ( paid a visit to the doctor a few months from cutting ) resource sometimes because I don't like it ). I don't eat street food ( it disgusts me tbh, I apologize for people who like it or have to eat it ) and I cook at home.

Also, he made a comment that I " eat a lot " more than 3 times, and he says " where does this food go? " And said that in front of my best friend 2 or 3 times that she got upset by it.

He says I'm picky about food and not anyone can keep up with it. And it sounds a bit weird tbh.

On the other hand, he makes comments about how I have an amazing body and nice face features, and how I look sexy 🙄.

What does this mean?

Do I need to tell my ex I'm getting an abortion?

Hi everyone,

So I broke up with someone 25 days ago. I had a miscarriage during that relationship, unfortunately not so long ago ( doctors check ).

And the break up because he was blaming for many things and was telling me that he was risking to be with me yada yadaa! So after the incident, he asked me to leave twice but everytime he says he regrets it.

What happened is that I packed and left, because I felt like I was the one who wanted to be together and not him.

But before leaving, we had sex the last time, and he came inside but I took the pill the day after but it didn't work.

The problem is that he came inside apparently for him " hoping that I get pregnant and go back to him ". I know I made a mistake, so please don't lecture me on that part! I have enough blame from myself.

But I don't want this pregnancy and I can't do it at this period of life. The miscarriage was enough to have me down already!

So my only worry now is whether or not to mention it to him, should I tell him?

( Also, I can't honestly have this because; from my side, we have diabetes in the family from my dads side and I need lab tests before having a kid. And he has a lot of mental health issues, like heavy illnesses that are no jokes. While I liked him a lot but it needed some time but now it's over anyway )

Please don't be harsh, I really understand I fucked up. I'm in my late 20ies and I have been away from family since I was young, no one knows about this. So I was thinking getting opinions from strangers on reddit sounds more like what I need.

Thank you!

Edit: I'm sorry that I can't answer all comments. But thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. I will definitely do what's best for me at this point! Thank you so much.

Traveled to Lebanon, struggle to get me in!

Guys!

I am a Moroccan woman ( 28yo ). I was traveling to Lebanon a couple of weeks ago, I got to the airport and instead of just getting the visa on arrival and moving with our lives, it wasn't 😆.

They got my passport, sent it to some higher department and I was just waiting with no word for a few hours. They said now Moroccan passport holders need a background check which they were doing.

At the end, because I only booked 3 days at a hotel in Beirut, while thinking I would go somewhere else. They only approved my entry for three days, and they wrote on the stamp on my passport that I should have left after 3 days. And I did! Because duh 🙄 😂.

But honestly, it's weird that this is happening with Moroccans wherever and whenever.
