KTM 390 Adventure -crank failure at ~600 kms - looking for others experience with replacement vs repair from KTM India

Bought a KTM 390 (350) Adventure recently. At around 600 kms in (well before the first scheduled service at 1000 kms), I noticed a loss of power one evening, and later that night the engine cut off completely while riding in traffic and left me stranded on the highway.

Took it to a service center in Kerala. They initially couldn't diagnose it properly (job card just said "general service"). A few days later they told me it's a crank issue, and they've ordered a new crankshaft, associated components, and a piston set. Parts were expected earlier this week, repair targeted for completion by end of this week.

I've asked the service center for a written diagnostic report and parts list still haven't received anything on paper. I've also emailed KTM India directly, and separately looped in the Area Service Manager, the dealer, and the service center on one thread, asking for a replacement (motorcycle or at least the full engine) rather than a repair, given this is a brand-new bike with a major internal engine fault before the first service. So far, no written response addressing the replacement request.

Wanted to check with this community:

Has anyone else run into a crank failure this early on the 390 (350) Adventure (or 390 Duke / similar LC4C platform)? Trying to figure out if this is a known/recurring issue or a one-off.

Has anyone successfully gotten KTM India to replace the engine or the full motorcycle instead of doing an in-warranty repair? What worked?

Any advice on dealing with KTM India's customer service/escalation process specifically and realistic timelines, whether the consumer helpline (1915) actually moves things faster, whether Grievance Officer letters get responses, etc.

Anyone gone the consumer court route for something similar? Worth it, or does it drag on too long to be practical?

Not looking to turn this into a rant post (yet) just trying to gather real experiences before I decide how hard to push this. Will update once I know more.

Thanks in advance.
