My job is setting up appointments for pest control, and some people like to talk more than others. I was on the phone with a lady who seemed nervous about someone coming over to treat her house, because she hadn't been able to keep up with it. 3 years ago she was diagnosed with cancer and now she's cancer free, but developed POTS. She was very surprised when I said I had it too. I told her I was taking propanol and it really helped me, she said it makes her blood pressure drop too low. She was so genuinely happy for me. She was surprised that I was able to work, and I told her I did have to make a career change but this allows a couple days work from home.

After the call ended I had to go into the bathroom and cry. She was so happy for me and I am so heartbroken for her.

I know what it's like to watch your house fall apart and to be helpless to stop it. I wish I could give her a hug. I ended the call telling her to get some rest and she said today is a rest day. I hope they find something to help her feel better soon

A little over a year ago I asked to work from home a couple days a week and it ended with me being on medical leave for 9 months. I burned through all of my savings. I started a new job where my fiance works, I was already friends with the management, and this job gives 2 days a week wfh. They told me when I started it would be some time before I could wfh, it's been 3 months. My pain and fatigue have been so much higher, and my suicidal ideation have come back pretty bad. I've brought up wfh a couple times and it gets a lukewarm response. My partner keeps telling me to just have a sit down meeting with my manager, they already know what's going on (they don't really). I just can't bring myself to ask, it took a lot of courage for me to ask at my last job, and even though I know it won't be there same here I just can't handle them looking at me, not understanding, and telling me no.

This question was brought up at work yesterday.

Are there movies that take place on a planet, other than earth, that don't feature space travel? Like the main characters are already there and the plot is focused on the planet. No trying to get off, or invading intergalactic force.

The closest I got is John Carter, but I don't actually remember how he ended up there.

I had a really bad flare up this morning, shaking, crying, hyperventilating, feeling like my bones want to escape my body. Thankfully my wonderful partner is working from home, he does everything he can to take care of me. After he got me settled back into bed, he pops back in and says

"if it makes you feel any better, Ted Turner just died."

After a second I responded simply "it does."

He let out a laugh and closed the door. Even at my worst he knows how to cheer me up.
