If LGR is building a new Alpha 2 Chevy Sedan... Where is our 7th Gen Camaro Coupe? (Concept Renders Inside)

Hi everyone,

Based on recent reports surrounding the Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant, it looks like GM is keeping the brilliant Alpha 2 RWD platform alive to produce new sedans, including a new Chevrolet model.

As a huge fan of RWD dynamics, I put together a concept render of what this aggressive new Chevy sedan might look like (see attached gallery).

But honestly, hearing about this RWD architecture staying at LGR brings up a massive question for Chevy fans: What about the Camaro?

If the foundational engineering and production lines are already set up for an Alpha 2 sedan, it practically begs for a two-door coupe counterpart. The 6th Gen's chassis was a masterpiece, and a 7th Gen Coupe on this updated architecture seems like a no-brainer. I’ve included a concept render of a potential 7th Gen Camaro Coupe (and a Fastback idea) in the gallery as well.

I’m curious about your thoughts:

  • Do you think Chevy is secretly working on a 7th Gen ICE/Hybrid Camaro Coupe, or is the nameplate taking a long hiatus?
  • Looking at the sedan concept, do you like this hyper-aggressive design language for Chevy's future cars?

The future of Alpha 2 at LGR: Visualizing the next generation of Cadillac RWD Sedans (Concept Render)

Hello Cadillac enthusiasts,

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant gearing up to continue producing RWD sedans on the updated Alpha 2 platform. Knowing that Cadillac is going to be a huge part of this (essentially the spiritual successor or heavy update to the CT5), I wanted to visualize the future.

I put together a concept render (see attached image) of how the next Alpha-based Cadillac sedan might look, blending the current sharp design language with some futuristic, elegant proportions.

The Alpha platform has given us some of the best-handling luxury sedans in the world, and it's great news that GM isn't abandoning RWD internal combustion/hybrid sedans entirely just yet.

What do you all think?

  • Should Cadillac's next RWD sedan lean into an even more aggressive, track-focused look (V-Series style), or return to ultra-luxurious, traditional elegance?
  • How long do you think Cadillac will keep producing ICE Alpha platform cars alongside the IQ EV lineup?

Rumors say LGR is building an Alpha 2 RWD Buick Sedan. I rendered a concept of what an American Flagship could look like.

Hi everyone,

Recent industry reports suggest that GM's Lansing Grand River (LGR) plant is preparing to build a trio of new RWD sedans on the Alpha 2 platform—and surprisingly, Buick is on the list alongside Chevy and Cadillac.

It’s been a long time since we had a proper, rear-wheel-drive flagship Buick sedan in North America. To see what that could look like today, I created a concept render of a modern, Alpha-based Buick Avenir sedan (see attached image). I went for a sleek, premium look that respects Buick's design heritage but updates it for the modern era.

While this car will likely be heavily targeted at the Chinese market where Buick sedans thrive, the fact that it might be assembled at LGR gives me hope we might see it stateside.

I’d love to hear your opinions:

  • Do you think there is still a strong market in North America for a premium RWD Buick sedan, or has the crossover completely taken over?
  • How do you feel about the design in the render? Does it capture that classic "Buick elegance" for the modern age?
