Thoughts on the 2002 miniseries?

I’ve watched it twice now. It cuts some corners but it’s excellent in my opinion I think Clavier plays the role well. I want to see what other members of this sub think about it, especially in comparison to Waterloo, the much older Napoleon movies, or Ridley Scott’s disaster of an attempt.

What if march of the eagles & ck3 had a baby

An individual/ family focused (like ck3) empire builder based in/around the musket era/industrial era. Say 1600-1900. Bookmarks like Napoleon, Frederick the great, or the rulers of the British Empire. All the while having a little more combat focus than ck3, like march of the eagles.

The 4 part miniseries

I just watched it for the first time and wow, truly amazing. The cast is awesome all the way around. Clavier is great as Napoleon. The atmosphere is great and the music is also a great touch. Some of the battles could’ve been more fleshed out for example Austerlitz comes and goes and the whole genius part is a little hazy but for 6 hours of TV it does a solid job of telling the story. Highly recommend for anyone that hasn’t seen it. I streamed it on prime video
